Quick Response Towing, Inc

Baltimore, MD

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

My car was towed by Quick Response Towing after I walked away for about five minutes. I was told it was $300.00 cash only. When I went to pick up my car, I could not look at it or be in it until I paid and signed the paper work. So I went back to the store and spoke to the owner where my car was towed. He stated that he never authorized Quick Response and that the address on the slip that was given to me was not their address.

At this point, this is a civil matter. I don't know who else in here would like to file a claim or be a witness in a trial. I am asking for a jury trial, and suing these thieves for ripping off people in the city of Baltimore. I have printed a form from the IRS site that I have filled out and made a copy of the receipt that was given to me and sent it off to the IRS.

Please feel free to contact me if you would like me to be a witness to testify about my experience with Quick Response Towing. I would also like to have a few witnesses at my jury trial when time comes.

My Great Grandfathers car was towed a couple of days ago for being parked in a handicap spot! He has a handicap sticker and is 91 years old with a cane. The people at the front desk were rude and disrespectful. My father asked if he could get the car for my grandfather, they said, "No" and made my 91-year old Great grandfather had to walk all the way to his car to get it. To know that someone treated my grand father this way makes me sick and something has to be done about this. This is not a place of business, its is a scam! Riding around looking for cars to tow is against the law! I will report this!

We parked our car at a friends house to drop-off Pampers. We didn't even go in, and we were parked in a legal parking spot. The tow truck driver saw us but blocked in the car and lifted it immediately, just looking at us with a rude grin. He said he would drop it if we gave him $150 cash on the spot. I said we didn't have any cash on us, he said, "oh well" and shrugged his shoulders and proceeded to take my car. My car is all-wheel drive and he put it on the wheel lift. He took off like a bat out of hell. Then he claims he put the tires on the dolly but he did not, he was the only one there and there was no dolly available. That's just what he put on paper. When I went to the shop and told the cashier they used the wrong truck, she said, "oh no, they didn't". I watched him bring it on a flat bed! Liars! When we went to pick it up, the person in front of me said he was towed from his own parking spot in his house and the guy behind me from a mall parking lot during business hours! My paperwork is not signed by a tow truck driver, it just have a number. There is white-out over it!

My husband took my 19 month old to the library in Baltimore City, and parked on the library's parking lot. On the way out of the library, his car was being hooked up to a tow truck. The driver said he could get his car back for $150 right there, but he was not parked illegally. Nobody called the towing company, a nearby business that shares the lot stated that the tow truck driver came in, and asked him whose car it was. My husband told him that he would go get the money, so he could get his car back, to take my daughter home, and the driver just left. The police were called, they showed up, and then just left. They didn't get out of the car or anything!

Quick Response Towing, Inc. towed my vehicle from the shopping center parking lot across the street from the Glen Burnie Light Rail station. I parked my car there so as to be able to go to the Navy-Maryland football game on 9/6/2010. Upon returning to the lot, my car was no longer there along with several other individuals who were also attacked with the same business practices. We all took a cab to the towing company's business premises to retrieve our vehicle. Two cabs were waiting in the parking lot as if to anticipate an influx of people needing a ride from the parking lot to the towing company, which was over 8 miles away (going from Anne Arundel, through Baltimore County, to Baltimore City). How would these cab drivers know to wait in the parking lot on Labor Day Monday night? Scam maybe?

Once at Quick Response, I, along with the other affected citizens, was confronted with some of the most appalling human behavior I have ever witnessed. The fee was $300.00 ($300.00 for a tow, really?) Is that the standard rate given the circumstances? Why not charge $5,000 for a cheeseburger too? The only accepted form of payment was cash. The employees threatened us with vulgarity, threats of impounding our cars further with increased fees, and even stepped out to physically fight a customer. As stated before, it's despicable.

During my short time with witnessing this towing company, they made $300.00 off of 4 different individuals, thus giving them $1,200 profit in less than 30 minutes. The number of people affected prior to and before my activity with this company is clearly indeterminable. Having read further into this situation, it is apparent that I was not the first to be victim to such an atrocity; rather numerous complaints have been placed against this business. It is my fear that this company will continue to thrive off of such illegalities, all the while harming innocent civilians. I hope to bring an end to this scheme through whatever lawful means are available. It cost me $300.00 for the tow, plus $3.00 ATM fee from using the ATM located on their business premises. Furthermore, I drove more than 20 miles and it took over an hour of my time.

I am writing this complaint in regards to an employee of your company practicing unsafe work condition, lack of customer service, and disrespect and negligence. All events happened between 10:30 thru 11 pm. My vehicle was parked in Coldspring station apartments. At the time of incident I was approaching my vehicle. I was on the driver side of the vehicle when the tow truck continued to back up and proceeded to lift the vehicle, causing it to strike me on the right side of my thigh area and causing me to yell out. At which time the driver continued to lift the vehicle and I stated, "What are you doing? I'm at the car and you still trying to lift after I am present."

He continued to ignore me and proceeded to threaten me with calling the cops. I stated to call because not only was the car on the ground when I was present but he also struck me in the process of the car being lifted. He showed nothing but disrespect. Taking pictures with a cell phone that was not job issued and ignoring all questions I asked. The police were dispatched and nothing was done on either end. I do not know if this company thrives on practices like vehicle assault, dishonesty, aggressive driving and unsafe work and people interactions. I could not believe the matter that this was handled, especially with the driver being very unsafe and aggressive and threating. I would hope something is done to handle this matter. The report number is **. Operator number **. I had to pay two hundred dollars to retrieve my vehicle and besides the fact the driver struck me with the vehicle.
