Carol of Alvin TX (8/12/01): On Aug. 9th I took my car to NTB for 2 new tires and to have the brakes checked. After putting the new tires on, they checked the brakes and told me that the front rotors were worn thin and needed to be replaced, to the tune of $80 each, plus new pads. Not having enough time that day, I declined, saying I would return another day.
Next day, not wanting to drive back over there, I took my car to a local garage. I told them I needed new rotors and brake pads on the front. When I went to pick up my car I was told I did not in fact need new rotors, that the ones on the car had never even been turned, and had no grooves worn in them. They said "I don't know who told you that the rotors were bad, but they were going to get to you." (This is on a 2000 Buick La Sabre)
I guess that had I had the time, and had NTB done the job, they would still be laughing at putting one over on me. It really upsets me that there are companies that will do this to unsuspecting consumers. I for one have lost trust in NTB. I will be telling everyone I encounter, that is contempleting using NTB, about my experience.
