Frank of Galloway, NJ October 23, 2009 In early July of this year we noticed a hesitation shifting from 2nd gear into 3rd gear, this delay was approx. between 2 and 5 seconds. When I contacted American Honda in California I was told that a dealer needed to diagnose this. I explained that it only had 59,500 miles on the car and that my wife who treats the car with tender loving care is the only one who has driven it and did not abuse this car in any way. I have had over 40 yrs. experience in the auto business both in sales and repair end, in both factory and after market sectors. I told them I felt I was more than capable in maintaining this vehicle and that it has never been neglected in it's regular maintenance. Anyway upon the inspection by the dealer it was ddetermined that the transmission is bad. Honda knows it has it has an on going problem with this particular transmission, it's all over the internet. They only offered to pay half of the cost of replacing my transmission. I do not find this to be satisfactory due to the fact that they have replaced others free of charge, one particular consumer on the internet stated his Honda had over 100,000 miles and they replaced his free of charge. My son had one replaced on his 2001 Accord with 104,000 miles on it with only a $500.00 contribution toward the labor cost. That would be acceptable, but they would not give me the same consideration saying Honda didn't make any money last year. Along with all of this the car is dangerous to drive, because some of them are locking up on the highway and going into a spin. I have numerous amounts of documentation regarding this matter. Please feel free to contact me, as I am in fact a expert source of technical answers to any questions that need to be answered. Report Your Experience
