Just a heads up on the Xterra gas valve shutter recall. I just took my 2001 Xterra to a local dealership to have the gas shutter valve recall work completed. I was experiencing all the symptoms of the recall but the dealership told me my VIN number did not fall within the time frame Nissan issued the recall for. They removed my gas tank and sure enough I had the deffective OEM part on my vehicle even though I was not sent a recall notice and Nissan did not include that year/VIN in the recall process.

well we are still paying for a new car that's still in the dealership. they graciously gave us a rental car, but it's not our new car. they still do not know when the part will come in they say it's on major back order. so if this part is messed up on all new xterras then why not recall them? and is there anything we can do about our new car blues?
