One reason for the recent spate of complaints may have to do with the growing reliance on electronics in today's cars and porked-up SUVs. European cars have always been known for, shall we say, delicate electrical systems. Adding gadgets of the complexity now common in the Benz is a recipe for big trouble -- and very big repair bills. Here are a few of the more recent complaints ... Cyril of Jamaica Est NY (12/17/08) Cyril of Jamaica Est, NY December 17, 2008 Cyril of Jamaica Est NY (12/17/08) Mohit of Potomac, MD December 15, 2008 Mohit of Potomac MD (12/15/08) Charles of Brooklyn, NY December 2, 2008 Charles of Brooklyn NY (12/02/08) With only 11,000 miles on the car; all four rims were in need of replacement due to dangerous cracks and dents. The damages can be felt at all speeds but especially above 50MPH. As the problem got more serious, the tires became damaged. I had to replace three out of four tires on the car with less than 14,000 miles. Now, at 33,000 miles, I have spent thousands of dollars in repairs and countless hours dealing with the issues. I have spoken to the service manager and General Manager over at Mercedes of Manhattan as well as the corporate office in New Jersey dozens of times. Not only have I have read about several lawsuits and other complants. I have also met other people with the same vehicle who have the exact issues. Does anyone have a similar story?
