Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I purchased a 2001 Honda CIVIC CNG from this broker via eBay auction in June 2011. The vehicle was listed in great condition, well-maintained, runs great, etc. It turns out that the vehicle was purchased the month before at the New York State Surplus Auction and NY State listed the transmission as known defective. The rust and corrosion was so awful that many dealers and mechanics refused to work on it.

The vehicle actually needed a new transmission, exhaust system, front suspension and many other mechanical and electrical repairs with over $7000 in total. This dealer knew that the vehicle was mechanically unsound and needed a transmission as well as many other major repairs including the driver airbag inflator, CNG tank insulation, etc. They still grossly misrepresented the vehicle's condition in the ad and auction.

Later, they tried to offer me $1000 to settle and said that he made only $500 off of the deal. The car was sold for $4000 at surplus auction and I paid over $8000 on eBay.

We went to purchase a vehicle and found one. We agreed on a price of $6500 and made a deposit of $2500. We were told no credit check was needed and that only employment history and personal references were required. We were then given all paperwork and approval and told to go to insurance agent to get coverage. The insurance agent said the copy of the title was not legal.

We went back to Auto Smart and were told we would have to wait until car was resold to get our deposit back since the owner used our money to release the title from floor plan at bank. We were told the car was resold and he would return our deposit. Three more weeks later, he will not respond to calls. We are going to have to file in court to retrieve our deposit having done nothing wrong. This group should not be in business.

I bought a used Durango. After 4 trips, I get it fixed. It still isn't fixed and they refuse to answer the phone or return phone calls. Don't trust these guys at all. I have a car that is not safe to drive and they refuse to fix it. Lemon law? Yea, only if I want to take more time off work.

I bought a car from them on a buy here pay here. the car was $1500.00. while i did some work for them my payments came out of my cash pay checks at the end of each week. when i had quit the owner and i signed a purchase agreement for the balance due which was @770.00 and i have paid the full amout and have the receipts to show that i have paid the @770.00 and they would not give me my title for the car and i have moved to a new state and i need the title to switch my registration to the state
