Carmen of Bradley, IL June 2, 2009 I purchased a 1999 Lexus RX 300 from Ohio 02-18-09; which was fully serviced that same day. On 04-20-09 I took my auto to Jiffy Lube in Bourbonnais, Illinois for a oil change. I felt like my service was rushed, and was very quick. Seeing that it was the end of the day I didn't complain. My oil indicator light pop on while driving later that day. I thought this was strange, I let my auto sit for a couple of hours. I then took my auto for a drive and the light went off. Making a long story short, 05-31-09 driving 70 miles per hours on the interstate MY ENGIN LOCKED UP!!! I called triple-A getting my auto towed to a local automotive repair shop. The scanner diagnosis indicated there was no oil in the engine and a small amount on the oil filter. The oil filter was loose and the undercarriage of the car has no oil on it. Typically if there was a oil leak the undercarriage would be saturated with oil, which is not the case. After hearing this I called Jiffy Lube District Manager of the Bourbonnais, Illinois location. The District Manager sent a couple of Jiffy Lube employees to take a look at my auto. I then contacted the District Manager for the report. I was told the filter was not the Jiffy Lube branded filter. After several questions, I was told by the Manager that someone must have drained my oil out and change out my filter after Jiffy Lube. I know that is not possible due to my car being locked and stored in my garage unless driving which was stated. Conversation continued in which the Manager suggested I may have enemies or people who don't like me, that drained my oil and changed my filter. I feel this was a unrealistic statement and was being taking as a joke. He also added there was no way Jiffy Lube would have not change to filter repeatedly. The web-site: http://www.jiffylubeproblems.com indicates differently. The BBB states there has been no claims against Jiffy Lube. This Clearly is false documentation; I find this very misleading. Getting a detail description and photos of the oil filter that was on my auto after my conversation with the Manager. I contacted the dealership I purchased my auto from and I AM ABLE TO PROVE MY OIL FITER WAS NEVER CHANGE BY JIFFY LUBE!!! I paid 43.29 for a Signature Service 4/4 PZL high mile10W30B oil change w/upgrades. As well as new PH3614-PZ21oil filter!!! My oil filter wasn't changed, there isn't any oil in my engine, there isn't a sign of a oil leak on the undercarriage of my auto and now my engine is locked up!!! Not to mention how this event has effected my professional and personal life!!! I am reaching out to Corporate in hopes of help!! I am going to be making phone calls tomorrow, in hopes of getting this problem resolved!! NOT RECIEVEING A PAID FOR SERVICE IS FRUAD!! If this problem can not be resolved in a timely fashion, legal action can take place!! Barbara of Blanchester, OH May 30, 2009 B. Jones serviced 1994 Dodge Intrepid that I bought new. They changed the oil, and changed the transmission fluid and charged 119.99 for that. The hose they used to suck out transmission fluid, was not properly but back in it's location. He let the hose lay on the pulley, and 15 miles later it exploded on second Creek Rd, near Blanchester, Ohio. It filled the inside with smoke, and just about wrecked from smoke. Brandon was brought out to car, and decided it was his fault, and the guy that came out with him, Adam said the same thing, and told us we would get a new transmission, is the worst we could do. They said to call Corp. Office, and talk to Mike. In mean time, I got a call from Cinn. dist. Rick Wetter, saying he was going to sent a wrecker out, which he didn't do, it sat there untill around 8:00 pm Finally I called Joes Towing, and told him to take to R & R Transmission the next morning 5/21/09. Joe's towing charged me 65.00. I called down to R & R about how bad it was, and Chris said it is pretty much burned up. I talked to Mike from Corp office in No. Carolina, about what to do, and told him we need a car, to drive, while it is sitting there with transmission is out. They got me one from Enterprise in Wilmington, Oh. R & R Transmission said it would cost 2,365.82. He said he was not going to pay for it, as it is a 1994 Dodge Intrepid that has only 84000 miles on it, and was in excellent mechanical untill this happened. I have been talking to Tammy, I am a nervous wreck over this. I want my car fixed. I have to to return rental car Monday, JUNE 1, 2009. They ok it to tear down but when it eas burned. So right now it is sitting at R & R tore all apart, and not being fixed. The transmission is junk, needs so much. It cost 2365.82 to repair. I sure Could . This car was bought new, and is one ower car. Christa of St. Louis, MO May 29, 2009 I have gone to this location for years and never had problems until now. They told me I needed a new Serpentine belt and I said go ahead and install it. The man came back and told me that he could not get the bolt that holds the belt on to come off. The next day I took the car to Midas and they showed me the damage that jiffy lube did to the bolt by forcing it back in place. Midas had to fabricate a new part and I am out 80.00. Never again Jiffy Lube! If you are unable to perform services properly don't even attemt to do them! Alberto of Houston, TX May 28, 2009 I took my car to get an oil changed @ Jiffy Lube on April 27, 2009. I noticed that after driving around doing my errands my engine began to smoke. At first my reaction was to stop and check it. It don't seem like it was overheating so I just figured that it was just spilled oil on the engine. After about a month the smoking never went away so I took it to Firestone so the can inspect the vehicle. Well they brought to my attention that I had a massive oil leak, and worse it came from to much oil being added to the car. So I called Jiffy Lube alerted them of their mistake and they asked me if I could have it towed to one of "their" people to inspected the vehicle. Well I said no cause I prefer dealing with Firestone when it comes to repairing my vehicle. So the sent some one out to inspect my car from RMS auto repair. Then Jiffy Lube told me that it was a bad valve cover gasket nothing more. Naturally I called Firestone and asked about this, they told me that all of the gaskets are blow due to the engine being overfilled with oil. Carol of Leander, TX May 16, 2009 Took my 2003 Nissan 350Z for oil change and was talked into tranmission flush. Was there over an hour. Noticed that they kept tending to other customers. When done was told an employee was going to take it for a drive to "put it through the gears". A good five minutes later he returned and couldn't say enough about how much he loved my car and how it drives. I left (with a friend/witness) and drove back to my office where the oil light came on. Checked oil. NO OIL! They sent a manager to my location to put in 3 qts of oil and return for the oil change I paid for. My husband noticed oil filter never changed. They noted on the ticket that I left 3 1/2 quarts low. Witnesses can tell you there was no oil. I want further testing but not at my expence. Bettie of Tooele, UT May 14, 2009 I had taken my car(2005 Trailblazer) to Jiffy Lube in Tooele, Utah on 3-28-2009 to have an oil change. On Easter Sunday 4/12/2009 while coming from church in Salt Lake City,Utah, I was driving at 60 miles per hour and was about 5 miles from home when I noticed that I was losing oil pressure and my car was acting funny. I immediately pulled over to see what was going on with my car. I turned off the car and let it sit for about 5 minutes, I then turned it back on and a loud noise was coming from the engine, the oil pressure was not going back up. I then called for a tow truck to have the car towed home. The next day I had it towed to Ouality Chevrolet Dealership to have them look at the car. They looked at the car and told me that the engine had thrown a rod. I asked the dealership to take a sample of the oil and have it taken to a lab (Crus Oil Inc. The report came back with a viscosity of 8.7. Jiffy Lube is not taken responsibility for the blown engine and have refused to take care of the damages to my car. Cynthia of Hudson, MA May 4, 2009 My husband brought his 2006 Nissan Altima to have the oil changed on April 24, 2009 the car was parked in the driveway the entire weekend and I noticed Monday that there was oil on the driveway. When he came home I told him about it and he parked the car in a different section, low and behold the next morning there was oil under the car. I brought the car back to Jiffy Lube and explained what happened. They looked under the car and said it was just some oil that was spilled on the frame and the cleaned it "up nice". My husband drove the car to work and when he came home parked it where he normally does and next morning more oil. I took the car back down and told the mgr. we wanted them to put a new filter on because my driveway is getting ruined never mind that the car is leaking oil. He checked it again and this time cleaned it with a "super-duper" cleaner and I left not happy with the situation. We went away for the weekend and when we got home my husband checked under the car and more oil. I called Jiffy Lube, spoke to the manager and he assured me when I came back down again (3times) not including the original oil change trip, he would change the filter and take care of it. I brought the car back in today 5/4/09 and the manager looked at the car and told me its not leaking!!!! I told him I wanted it changed and also a refund for the inconvenience of having to go back 4 times. He told me he couldn't give me a refund but would give me a credit for a free oil change next time, like there would EVER BE A NEXT TIME! So I left Jiffy Lube with a leaking car, and a breach of their warranty. I drove straight to the District Court House and I am filling the papers out as I speak to file a small claim against Jiffy Lube Oil in Marlborough Ma on Maple Street. I will be suing for the damage done to my driveway, because I have to get it power-washed, the cost of the filing the claim and also for a refund of the original charges, if I could sue for inconvenience I would but I know that is not considerable damages. I am taking my car to another mechanic and will have that witness testimony along with the pictures of the oil spots on my driveway. This could have all been handled so differently if they had just changed the filter the first time I went back, I was even asking for a refund at that point. So my lesson in this is take the car to a reputable establishment, one that will honor and stand behind there warranty. Les and Barb of Omaha, NE April 27, 2009 Totally ruined my transmission!! Took Impala in for service and they flushed it. It was higher mileage too, which should never be done. Transmission has to be replaced!! No longer shifts and drives correctly. wish we had read the internet sooner about them. Deborah of Port St Lucie, FL April 27, 2009 My kids used a gift card we received and took their car in for a simple oil change. After Jiffy Lube finished, my kids got into the car and the oil light was on. Jiffy Lube came out and "fixed" it. 20 minutes afterwards, the car overheated, spewed antifreeze all over the side of the highway and the engine seized. I called the repair shop where they denied touching the cooling system but in the next breath admitted to checking the fluid levels. The manager asked me if I didn't think this could be a coincidence??? You've got to be kidding me! They wanted me to pay for a tow from another county and then they would check and see if it was their fault. Like I would give them a chance to screw something else up? The manager refused to take responsibility and is punting to the owner. I simply wanted a refund for the oil change. Now I'm going to demand a refund for the new repairs. I'm also contacting corporate headquaters now and filing a complaint with the BBB. Lawrence of Kettering, OH April 23, 2009 I took my wife's car to be serviced at Jiffy Lube. After getting the oil & lube, upon leaving,I saw 2 lights on on my dashboard.I went to Advanced Auto and had them pull up the codes on the car. One code was "intale air high temp", and the other was "trac off". I "googled" the problems and found that the Trac Off code caused the car to shift VERY hard, which it did. Diagnostics didn't zero in on the exact problem, but did list many possibilities. Costs varried from 40 to over 2,000 on the traction problem. I thought that since the information said that some codes caused other codes to appear, I'd check the Intake high air temp first, glad that I did! I did a visual check under the hood, looking at the intake, and found that the sensor wiring was cut. Cut clean with wire cutters. I took apart the P-J connector, forced it apart to get the wires out of it, reconnected it, and the light was still on. I looked further and found that the wiring was also cut at the harness bundle. I repaired this also. I went again to Advanced Auto, had them pull up the codes again, reset them , and the car has been fine since. I am not looking for compensation, because it only took 2 hours of my time, some electrical tape, and 2 wire nuts. I do know now that noone in my family, nor my friends, will go back to that chain. I also belong to 3 different fraternal organizations which collectively number close to 4000 members. I will be sharing my story with them. Report Your Experience
