Inside Jiffy Lube

Louis of Nanuet NY (05/02/08)
I went for new filters and an oil change and if I didn't keep looking at the men that were working on my truck -I would never had known that they were cheating me - they took out my air filter and never put a new one in - they didn't put a filter in at all! and the men were so rude to me and asking don't you trust us and I said no - you are not trust worthly - I will never go there again - I deserve respect - I am a Vietnam Veteran and I never expected to be treated like this.

if I didn't keep my eye on the men there would have been alot of damage to my chevy tahoe truck!

I took my 95 Bonneville to Jiffy Lube for an oil change on March 16, 2008 at the 2551 Western Ave, Park Forest, IL location. A month later my heads blew in my engine due to the technician not tightening my radiator cap and I immediately went to the Park Forest location to inform them what happened. I spoke with the manager Calvin regarding this issue with my engine, he stated an investigation will take place and they will determine if they can fix my car. Days later, I was informed that Jiffy Lube was not going to fix my engine because there was not enough antifreeze splashed around the engine. Jiffy lube did not complete the investigation within hours; it took days so naturally the antifreeze that was splashed on the engine was dried by that time. My engine was running well until I took it to Jiffy Lube for an oil change.

I took my car in for just a basic oil change. They bring me out to show me my air filter, they try to sell me a new one, I said no. Then they removed my cabin filter and tried to sell me a new one, I said no again. they finished my oil change, I paid and left. A few weeks later we had a big rain storm and my car was leaking inside under the dashboard, my carpet and foam pad are completely soaked. Icalled Chris at Jiffy Lube and told him what problem I was having he said bring it up. I took the car back up to him and he looked it over and said he couldnt find anything wrong I advised him that I would have to take the car to the Chevy dealer to have them check it, Chris told me that if they did anything wrong that they would take care of it. The Chevy dealer called me and told me that the cabin filter seal was not put back on properly, I had him call Chris and Chris went to the dealer to check it out. Chris called me on the phone to inform me that he has talked to other dealers and that the seal shaking out of place is a common problem on the 2004 Monte Carlo. Thats news to me. Chris said that they would do nothing to help me out, and the district manager wont even return my calls.

I went in for an oil change in February. At the end of the job they reported that they lost or damaged five of my lug nut caps. They promised to order them and replace them. I have been through this before so I requested that the manager give me a note stating that they would replace the caps. He said to check back in a week and he would have them. When I returned, he was no longer with the company but I showed the note to the new manager who said there were no lug caps ordered but he would do so. He said to check back in a week. One week later, still no lug caps. for about a month I would get a call saying that the caps had not come in. Now I no longer get calls and I still have no lug caps. Here's the thing; I came in for an oil change. I allowed their high-pressure sales people to sell me a wheel rotation. Basically, I trusted them with my car. After performing the wheel rotation, they have damaged my lug caps and aren't too eager to get them replaced. I am now thinking that if I had told them no in the first place, I would still have my lug caps. Moreover, I am a former mechanic. I have ordered enough parts from dealers to know that it does not take three months to order lug nut caps. Especially for a car as common as a Pontiac Montana. Don't you not think that it is a problem for a customer to trust your store with his vehicle and he gets it returned in less of a condition than when he trusted it to them? I do. I do know this, Jiffy Lube won't do my next oil change.

My wife took her Hyundai Santa Fe in for a standard oil change and was talked into a change of transmission fluid. Prior to taking the vehicle into this particular store the vehicle was not leaking any fluid. Following the service the vehicle began seriously leaking power steering fluid. Apparently the technician may have either loosened the connecting hose or loosened the plug that is associated with the power steering when draining the transmission fluid. When I attempted to have the weekend assistant manager pull it onto the block to look underneath I was basically told it's not their problem that they don't service power steering, and as I attempted to explain they may have caused the leak I was told that's my problem.

My wife was nearly involved in a serious accident as she had no steering while driving down a very fast moving street at 45MPH and had zero control of the vehicle. Additionally the fluid has drained into my driveway as-well-as the street in front of my home. Right now as a direct result of this I fear the steering may be damaged. I have parked the vehicle until I can get it into a certified Hyundai dealership.
