I took my niece's auto to get an oil change, 2009 toyota corolla ( I was in the neighborhood and seen the company [ should have taken to the dealer]), and was told that they did not have the oil filter and to come back the next day. I took the auto back to my sister-in-law. A couple of hours later I received a call, she was very distressed, and was told that there was oil all over the place, inside the engine, outside the car, even on the windshield. I call jiffy lube, they did not replace the oil cap!, no one was there. Well the cut this short.... no one wants to take responsibility!

Here is a response from the regional: David, your problem is not being passed around. We just don't own that location and are not liable for it. You are free to do and contact who you need to contact, but Heartland cannot take any action with your claim. Again, please contact Jiffy Lube International @ (800) 344-6933. I cannot contact the International... it is in Texas.

I went to Jiffy Lube in Feb. 2008 for a simple oil change. This was my first, and last time. I have always changed my own oil every since I was 16 and the only reason I went there was because it was cold outside. I am a 21 year old female (not the every day grease ball) but I know everything there is to know about cars, especially my own vehichle! Needless to say when I get there they try to best to pressure me into unnessary repairs, I'm talking a list of stuff, some I already knew about, others they were simply making up. For example, they kept bothering me about carburated issues when my car is fuel-injected!!! I've replaced everything from the fuel pump to drive shaft on my own, I think I know what I'm doing and was just plain insulted when they continued to act like I had no clue.

After my oil change, I went home and as I was getting out of my car I noticed oil dripping, I popped the hood to find a HUGE gash in the oil lines, and this was a fresh cut!! I don't know if it was done on purpose or not but when I went back to complain they said it was an old car, things break all the time. This was not broken, it was cut (and right beside the new oil filter) how convenient! I don't know which is worst, someone insulting my intelligence and assuming because I am a women I don't know my own car, or ruining perfectly good parts just so I would come back and have them fix it!

I almost forgot, my sister (who knows NOTHING about cars) also went there and had her oil changed, however she paid 100 for hers, charging her 35 for a FILTER! Ladies, you can buy a filter for 4 at Autozone! If your a woman, be prepared to be ripped off!!!

On 9/5/08 I went into JL for the first time here. On completion of their oil change and service, I was given a receipt that showed only 2 chassis fittings were lubed. When I questioned only 2 fittings being lubed, I was told that's all we could find. After some research and consulting my owner manual on a 1986 Isuzu PUP, I found there are at least 8 grease fittings. I returned to the location on 9/8 and complained to the Manager, Vince.

When commenting about the lack of service and quality of the lube tech who worked on my vehicle, I was told by Vince, Well, I have to work with what I have. So I can only assume they hire unqualified techs and have no training program and no customer/ vehicle safety concerns. They put the vehicle on the rack again and on releasing the vehicle again, the Mgr told me they found 7 fittings this time. I asked about the u-joint/driveline fittings and was told 'we couldn't find any'. U-joints have grease fittings. They aren't that hard to find. Not many places to 'hide' them.

I had the manual with me and tried to show Vince the diagram showing the fittings and he wouldn't even look at the book. When I told him that if I find there are, in fact, u-joint grease fittings I would be filing a small claims suit against them, his reply was Fine and walked away from me. How many other 'valued' customers do not get proper lube service and suffer mechanical failure and unnecesary wear later due to JL's negligence?

Unnecessary time and gas to return to the location. Knowing there are more than 2 fittings likely saved me major mechanical failure in the future.

Michael of Colorado Springs, CO September 8, 2008

On Friday 9/05/08 I took my 03 Saab in for an oil change and a radiator flush. After waiting for what seemed to be longer than needed I went into the bay to see if everything was ok. To my suprise they could not start my car or keep coolant in the engine. After having a tech from the Brakes Plus nearby take a look at the car they could not tell me what had gone wrong. Upon trying to start the car the engine made a high pitched whistle. The store manager assured me that my car would be towed first thing in the morning to their mechanic.

The next day after finding a ride to the mechanic i found that my car would be sitting in an empty parking lot all weekend while the shop was closed. I bought the car less than 600 miles ago and had a full inspection done at the time of purchase.

I have been without my car three days and still have no answers. I am still awaiting the call from the district manager regarding the situation. The store manager has been very nice and helpful in trying to get the situation resolved. If my car is not fixed to my satisfaction and I am not in some way compensated for all this headache I will be seeking legal action. It is obvious that Jiffy Lube ruined my engine and I expect to have it fully fixed. If there is an attorney that thinks I have a case and would be able to give me some advice please contact me.
