Inside Jiffy Lube

Mark of Madison WI (03/02/08)
Our van needed an oil change as soon as we could. So I had my wife take it to Jiffy Lube. I told her to only get an oil changed and nothing else, since I know they try to sell you as much service as they possibly can. After the vehicle was in getting serviced, a technician came in (if you want to call them that) and told her she needed a fuel filter. She of course said no. They went on to explain that the fuel filter was rusted and not just surface rust, but rusted all the way through, from the inside out. I'm glad she listened to what I said about not taking any other service no matter what they said. She told me when she got home what they said.

So I looked up the service schedule for the vehicle. It said our particular vehicle needs an inspection of the fuel filter at 60,000 and replace as needed. So I went out and climbed under the vehicle and took a look for myself. It was not rusted at all, not a hint of rust; it looked like it was new. This makes me really mad since they tried to take advantage of her. They wanted to charge 49.99 for a 10 filter, and I know it would only take about 10 minutes to replace it myself.

This isn't the first time this has happened. They also wanted to replace the license plate bulbs and turn signal bulbs in a brand new vehicle. I said no and drove the vehicle to a parts store to take a look, and nothing needed replacing. Only reason I had the wife take this vehicle to JL is because I couldn't get the drain plug out. We will never take another vehicle to a Jiffy Lube or any other such place again--only to my trusted mechanic.

I use to go to Fountain Hills Jiffy Lube but moved from there. They were EXCELLENT! I tried on on Higley Rd. Mesa, and they were dirty and sloppy with high prices. I found one near work and spend my lunch hour there for an oil change and air filter (more than the Chevy Dealership). Since I visited there, my oil service light comes on. I called then and they told me to come and have it checked. I spent most of my lunch hour there and NO ONE knew how to reset the oil light on my dashboard even with their instruction book. What a waste of my time and gas. I will continue at the dealership.

Waste of my lunch time, GAS and mileage and now a trip to the Chevolet dealership and have to wait there for their 'resetting' the oil light.

I wanted to get a fuel filter changed and the fuel injection system cleaned. I had my own fuel filter and the gentleman told me it would still be 35.99 and then I told him I was there at this Jiffy Lube on 1/13/08 (Oil change) and they offered the fuel injection system clean for 25.00 he asked his boss and he told me that price was only good with my oil change. I then told him I would no longer be a customer. I have been using this Jiffy Lube for years and have never asked for nothing but the one time I do, they treat me like it didn't matter if I was a loyal customer or not.

1/29/2008 Ford F250 HD Powerstroke 7.3L Diesel Was told Signature Service Oil Change would 56.99. Job was completed and I was presented with a bill of 101.73. I pointed out what I was originally told and they told me that their estimater software only figured up to 5 quarts of oil on the estimate and that I needed 15. I pointed out that they knew what the truck was and given that they seemed to know every other factory service detail, how could they not tell me up front that there was going to be an extra 39.00 worth of oil needed to fill it. I got sympathy but no satisfaction.

I was over charged on signature service, my vehicle was leaking oil (spotted when parked), and they broke or lost air filter clips that hold it down.
