Inside Jiffy Lube

Linda of Zanesville OH (11/13/08)
Took my Mom to get her oil changed at a Jiffy Lube on Maple Ave in Zanesville Ohio on November 12, 2008..All we wanted was a basic oil change nothing else..Well the man called us outside and told us we needed a transmission flush for over a 100 bucks..I told him no just an oil change.. So, they changed the oil and when we went to pay he said it would be 67 dollars! We wanted the basic oil change not the most expensive oil change..We also had a 10 dollar coupon, but we didnt' give it to him till after he rang us up and he said he couldn't honor it cause he'd already cashed out.

We were two woman that they took advantage of, bottom line..They lost a customer, and I'm going to get the word out about how underhanded these Jiffy Lubes are to the public..While I was sitting in the waiting area there was an elderly woman getting her oil changed and they called her outside and tried to sell her something she didn't need or want..and when she paid I heard her complain why she was being charged more ...he gave her a mumbled answer.. beware of Jiffy Lubes.

She only had her oil changed Yesterday. Dont know if there was any damage done yet.

I sent my wife down to get an signature oil change done on her car. She goes down the Jiffy Lube in town, they find ALL KINDS of things wrong, tell her they need changed NOW, can't drive it like this. So she goes ahead and does it. 200 dollars later, she makes it home. I see her Bill, and its REDICULAS. They charged her to change her light bulbs, a new air filter (which it was new) a tranny flush, tire rotation, plus more!

200 dollars.

Clara of Kansas City, MO October 14, 2008

Clara of Kansas City MO (10/14/08)
On September 30, 2008 I drove up to the service bay at the Jiffy Lube Service Center and requested on oil change. The service attendant came up to my van and first proceeded to tell me that an oil change was going to cost me 34.95 at that time. I arrived between the hours of 1-3 on that day.

I informed the attendant that it had almost been closed to a year since I had an oil change. He stated to me that he could not give me an oil change because for me not getting an oil change within a years time and if he would do it would be a liability risk. He suggested that I go to a service center and have my van checked out before I get an oil change to make sure no damage was done from not getting an oil change that long.

I admit fault at not getting an oil change in a timely manner but I feel that's wrong for that attendant to come up with that lame excuse not to provide me an oil change service. That discrimination. This is not the first complaint that I've file against jiffy but It will be the last.

I took my 1989 Geo Metro to Jiffy Lube, for a quick oil change, they after checking told be my transmission oil was burnt out, and needed to be vacuumed out before new oil could be added. The vacuum was 110. I never heard of vacuuming oil out, they said it must be done. My total bill was 146

I was charged 56.21 for a basic oil change, and when I asked why Mike the representative for Jiffy Lube in Atlanta told me because they vacuumed my truck, which they only vaccumed the drivers side. The charge for oil was 15 and the labor and parts was 37.00 ontop of the 15 oil charge.

this is consumer rip off, they never once informed me that they would charge me close to 60 for an oil change
