Erik of Waipahu HI (10/23/03):
My original diagnosis was that the frame was warped. How? I did not know. Regardless, I took it in to the dealership. Initially the sales rep was very helpful and assured me that if it was a serious problem the vehicle would be replaced. They took it to the body shop for a diagnostic test of the frame, which came back as I suspected ... uneven. Perhaps this is where my real complaint begins because rather than tell me and discuss options they "adjusted" the frame with some machine. I feel they took the easy way out in an attempt to deflect extra paperwork. This is unacceptable to me. I paid money for a new -- rather what I thought was a new -- defect-free vehicle. Though the problem looks fixed, I can only wonder what or if there will be additional problems that may stem from this "adjustment" of the frame. I am in the military, and I've spoken with JAG lawyers, who have basically told me that this is going to be a long battle. To me a problem with the frame, adjusted or not, is a big deal, and I feel that the vehicle should be replaced. JAG advised me to keep complaining about the vehicle. Do I have a legitimate case, which would justify my vehicle being replaced? Report Your Experience
