I purchased a pontiac g6 one year ago with 18k miles. The major issue, among the many, was the break lights. They turned on when I accelerated and turned off when I braked. I ended up bringing it to the dealer after getting pulled over twice and they replaced the bcm. The bcm seemed to fix the the cruise control and the brake light issue, but cost 600.00 to repair. After 9 of us filed complaints the part was recalled as of 02/2009. I sent in my reciept but got a call informing me that only the pin on the bcm needed to be replaced and I would not be receiving any refund. I will NEVER by gm again.

on 2/14/2009, 10 minutes after parking my 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP in the garage it caught on fire. Smoke damage to the garage and a portion of the house. Pontiac destroyed. My wife's car, also in garage suffered smoke and soot damage to outside. I found that there was a recall issued that said not to part car in garage, etc. until fixed. I am original owner and I never received a recall notice from GM. In fact it appears GM did not send recall notices for 2000 - 2003 Pontiac's because they did not have sufficient parts for the repairs.

I have AAA Insurance, but obviously I cannot buy another car for the amount that I was given. It appears that several hundred people have had similar experiences as I have had. They have also registered complaints with NHTSA and comsumer affairs. We contacted GM and they said that they would send us a form and that we might be reimbursed for the deductables on the cars. In my mind, not only is GM reprehensible, but so is NHTSA for not insisting that GM issue recall letters and for not insisting that parts be made immediately to fix these defects. To suggest that this is not a defect, but rather a maintenance issue is an insult to those affected and injured by GM negligence. Billions of taxpayer dollars are being into GM, there must certainly be some accountability, and certainly some sanctions.

As stated above, my Pontiac is a total loss. My wife's car has been partially painted and the insides treated for smoke damage. I am retired and live off social security and small 401k. AAA gave me 10,600.00 settlement on my car (I thought was fair), but that is hardly going to help me obtain another car. I think GM should be held accountable, and have to provide me with a new car for what my settlement was.

I bought a 2008 Pontiac G8, and it came with a remote starter as standard equipment. What I wasn't told, couldn't have imagined, and didn't find out until 2 weeks later is the remote starter is not designed to interface with the heater/AC system. So when I remote start my vehicle I get no heat on in my car, which defeats the whole purpose of having a remote starter! Also, the windows remain extremly wet and streaked with water after rolling them down then back up, as though the weatherstrips inside the tracks are ineffective.

I've contacted GM and was finally told by M. Peltier at the GM Business Resource Center that there's nothing GM can or will do, and that the car is operating the way it was designed to. The Better Business Bureau said they can't help me either, because these 2 issues are 'design defects', NOT 'manufacturing defects'.

I've owned 2 other new GM vehicles, and this G8 is the most poorly designed and built vehicle I've had the misfortune of owning! I NEVER WOULD HAVE BOUGHT THIS CAR if I knew I'd have to drive around with wet streaky windows, and go outside in the snow and cold to start it every morning. I want GM to either fix these 2 conditions on my vehicle, or buy it back from me so I can purchase a car that's properly designed and built!

Passlock Security System. sometimes when i try to start my 99 grand am it will not start because of the security system. i have to wait until the red security light shuts off and then the car might start some times it will start sometimes it takes about 5 tries to start. this can be very annoying, especially when i have to wait 10 to 15 minutes for the security light to turn off before i can start the car

gm dealerships have told me it would cost me about 700 dollars to fix the problem. this is a used car i bought i did not ask for the Passlock Security System it came with the car when i bought the car 2 years ago! my complaint is i need the car for work and for emergencies. all i wanted gm to do is to bypass the Passlock Security System.. i keep the car locked in front of the house also in my driveway so i am not worried about someone trying to steal my car. but i hate having to pay out 700 to 800 dollars to have to have the Passlock Security System repaired.

now i know why gm is going under because they will not by pass this security system they seem to want more and more money from the public for something stupid such as a Passlock Security System. i would rather pay 50 dollars to have the Passlock Security System. taken off the car. i will never buy another gm car since they wont bother to disengage the Passlock Security System unless i pay them a lot of money. because if i have to rush someone to a hospital i don't want to have to sit in my car for 10 to 15 minutes waiting for the security light to shut off, and hope the car will start.
