On 3/3/10 at approximately 00:28 I arrived at the Arrowhead Estates located in Fontana Ca. I parked directly in front of mobile home, my sister's residence. I was picking up a jacket with my work badge in it. I left residence in 2 minutes maximum and walked out and was standing in front of my car when I heard a loud roaring noise which startled me because I didn't know who it was. All I heard next was skidding noises and noticed a big truck was backing up at a dangerous speed and I started to scream as loud as I could and waved my arms and hands like a maniac to get the drivers attention. He was coming toward me like a bat out of hell.
The driver kept coming and did not stop and almost ran me down with some equipment. I jumped out of the way to prevent myself from getting severely injured and made it to the right side of my car. I was shaking and scared to death and then I realized it was a tow truck. The driver bashed into my car with his equipment at high speed, hooked my car up then jacked it up at maximum height and then got out of the truck. I was so upset I yelled and cursed at him and stated "didn't you see me standing in front of my car and hear me yelling?"Then I stated "you tried to run me over just to get my car". The driver responded coldly "didn't you see the sign?"
The next thing I did was apologize for cursing at him because he was very angry, cold, and silent all I noticed that he was breathing fast and hard and I really thought we would get in some sort of physical altercation so I remained quiet. The driver then said I can give you a drop. I asked what is a drop. The driver then stated "for $152.00 I will give you your car". I agreed because I had no choice. I would have been stranded with no car, no purse or car keys because they were in my car. The driver continued to be cold blooded towards me and disregarded my safety again. I had to request that he lower my car so I could get my driver's license, registration and my purse with my bankcard in it. The driver did with an attitude maybe a notch.
I still had difficulty getting to the items the driver requested because my car was so high in the air. Then when the driver completed the transaction I started to get upset again because he took a picture and it looked like my personal information my bankcard. I asked the driver for his name 4 times and he ignored me. The driver then unhooked my car slamming it real hard to the ground and left the area. When I got in my car my emergency lights went on and off several times while my car was still in the off position. I then left area drove to the gas station and then to the Fontana police department to report the driver for trying to assault me because I parked in the fire lane for 2 minutes. The officer took my complaint in the parking lot of the police station then called Code 4 towing to see what their version of the story was.
The officer told me that they said I was parked for 20 minutes and that the manager called. This was false because I contacted my sister on the following afternoon who knows the manager very well and called him and the manager denied calling the tow truck Co. The manager had no knowledge of what happened and said he was going to call the company to investigate. I told the officer I believed the tow truck driver was in the park already waiting in the dark for a chance to tow a car to make money. The tow truck Co. also refused to give the officer the name of the driver they identified him as driver #8 only. I have 2 receipts conflicting with the times the tow truck driver put on the copy of the tow receipt indicating what time I came and how long I parked.
I also called Code 4 to speak with a supervisor on the following afternoon a lady answered and identified herself as the supervisor and said her name was Marcy. I stated "I want to file a complaint on the driver that tried to run me down" and I need his name. I explained some of the events and all she said was you shouldn't have been standing in front of the tow truck and I said I was already in front of my car and I wasn't hooked yet. I also asked Marcy if it was standard protocol for my bankcard and personal identification to be photographed her did not respond to that question.
Marcy the supervisor took my name and telephone number and said she would talk to the tow truck driver to see what happened and call me back. Marcy never returned my call of course. I am currently seeking outside action to file a complaint against the driver. I do have witnesses who saw the driver's horrible actions. Several of my family members viewed a part or the whole incident because of my screaming.
