My 18 year old daughter, a freshman in college, was pumping gas at a station to come home for the weekend when she was approached by Mr. Ford and he conned her into getting a very small chip in the windshield fixed. She told him no, but he persisted and told her she wouldn't get into trouble with her parents. He then called my insurance company and filed a claim. The chip has been in the glass since May and it was not a big deal but he made it seem like that to her. My insurance is not going to pay so now I have a $60 bill.
I contacted the number on the form; it was routed to an office in AZ. The lady I spoke to was rude and didn't seem concerned at all. I called Mr Ford, he said he was in uniform and everything was legal. My daughter doesn't understand insurance, much less claims and I just don't understand how this company can prey on young girls in gas station parking lots. My daughter also informed me there was another guy with him trying to get her to buy some type of car wash stuff for the tires.
The jeep my daughter was driving is in my name, not her's and she is on my insurance but not the primary, I am. I have contacted the insurance company and advised them that Mr. Ford filed a fraudulent claim I hope they take care of them but this company is preying on unsuspecting people, vulnerable young people. This company preys on young victims, ones they can con into falling for their scam and then filing claims with insurance companies instead of earning a real living. It is harder to trust people these days and with a company that set's up in a gas station parking lot and approaches people is not the way to earn a living. They don't go back to the same station they move around.
