Priscilla of Roswell, NM November 24, 2008

Priscilla of Roswell NM (11/24/08)
I took a loan out for my brothers vehicle, issues happened and I took the car away from him. I went on carfax to see if I could discover if he had, had any problems with the the vehicle or had made any claims, that he did not make me aware of. I typed the vin number on carfax and came up with two reports. I thought This could be important, I already thought that 31 was alittle much but I figured maybe it would be worth it especially if it contained two reports. After purchasing the report I come to find out that the reports were uesless.

First report stated: Title issued or updated, First owner reported, Registered as personal vehicle, Loan or lien reported. Second report stated: No open recalls. Needless to say I was completely disappointed that I had just spent 31 for nothing. I wrote carfax right away about getting my refund because they state that it's 100% guarantee if not satisfied. This was November 14,2008, it's been acouple of days and I still haven't heard from carfax.

I wish that I had done research on them before purchasing a report. I guess I just figured that if they had commercials and had a 100% guarantee, there wouldn't be a problem.

31 is not much but when your paying for something and getting nothing it's alot.

I proudly own a 2001 VW Passat and I am the single owner since I purchased on Dec 6th 2000. I am looking to sell my car now and buy a van and the dealer pulled the car fax and told me that it has three owners so far and was in a serious accident which is false.

Because of the multiple owners listed and accident reported dealers are offering awful 2500 where as the kbb price is around 6500.

My car accident history was ran by Honda and Carfax has a report saying my car has been in two accident which is not true, I called my insurance company AAA and they checked my information and verified that is was not true

I need to know how can I get that information removed because I want to purchase a new car and that untrue accident report doesn't look good on my record.

Before i purchased a 2007 Chevy Avalanche I purchased a carfax report and it showed only three hits. All were for registrations. Long story short the entire front end has been replaced (new grill, fender, bumper and repainted from the front doors forward. I know this because there is overspray on the inner fenders and one running board.I don't believe g.m. paints cars after they are built,. also i found out that it was also used for a commercial pilot truck. These did not shw-up on the report. I feel like i got screwed by carfax twice. If I had known this about this vehicle I would not have purchased it.

The damages are this; I paid for an accident free and what was supposed to be an exceptionaly low use vehicle. I find now that is not what i received.

Originally, I looked at a 2005 RSX Type S, on autotrader with a free CARFAX report. The vehicle showed a CLEAN history and listed no obvious problems. I even had run a CARFAX from the dealership I worked for just to make extra sure. Still, it returned with a CLEAN history.

I eventually bought this RSX, thinking I made a wise choice, since it's CARFAX was CLEAN. Little did I know I had wasted my money buying this car. I found out 3 weeks after I had the car things that shocked me. Took it to an Acura dealer for a repair and was informed the DRIVER'S SEAT RAIL was BENT, indicating an ACCIDENT. The Right Rear Quarter Panel was a REMANUFACTURED PANEL with a DOT badge instead of the factory VIN badge. The PAINT between the TRUNK and the Right Rear Quarter Panel were 2 DIFFERENT SHADES OF BLUE. I was told and shown this by the Acura Service Writer, even told him the CARFAX Report was indeed CLEAN. It's obvious CARFAX doesn't get all the information it says it recieves.

This car cost me a month of my time, and I traded in a perfectly great car for this. It's CRYSTAL CLEAR that you CAN'T even TRUST CARFAX. Whatever car make you're in the market for, have it INSPECTED by that particular MAKE'S dealer.
