Rain of Studio City, CA January 24, 2009

Rain of Studio City CA (01/24/09)
I was in the market for a new car & I ran carfax reports on all the vehicles I was considering. I ended up purchasing a 2002 Mercedes C230 with very low milege. I purchased the car in November 2007 and have had nothing but issues with it. Yesterday (01/23/09)I took it in to have it appraised to see about selling it and the car dealer said that with all the accidents it's been in he would only give me 1,000.00 I asked him what he was talking about and he showed me a carfax report that showed two reported accidents and the accidents were in 2006. Carfax had a note under them that said (Carfax began reporting 03/19/08). I'm so upset I would never have purchased it had I know it had been in accidents!

I am stuck paying off an 11,000.00 car loan on a vehicle worth maybe 3,000.00 at most. I lost my job and now I'm stuck with this horrible car I'll never be able to resell & it's stressing me out so horribly. I would never have purchased the car had I known the facts.

I went on the web site to find info. on a vehical I was looking to purchase. I herd that carfax was the best out there.I popped on the beginng of their page which stated first there was a free up date on that vehical. OK, I then pushed that up and it stated there was 6 entries on that car. This was not free to see which I had to pay 29 plus tax and what not. I'm very interested in this car, now I must see these 6 entries before I purchase.

Guess what I payed that 29.00 plus to have it tell me 6 of their categories that the car has ZERO problems.

Don't get me wrong thats great to here no problems BUT! I was sucked in to see 6 entries that should have been problems. Carfax should not be allowed to make up their own entries and charge the public by misleading them.

Things are rough anough as is and companies like this being able to stay in buisness is WRONG! Its time for this goverment to deal with these companies like this RIGHT NOW. Check the web for all the complaints filed and still more and more being added like my self as I write this to you.

Barbara of Anchorage, AK November 25, 2008

Barbara of Anchorage AK (11/25/08)
In 2007, I purchased a CarFax report for a 2006 Subaru Forester. The report showed no accidents. The auto salesman provided the same CarFax report after I asked if the car had been in any accidents. To imply that it hadn't, he handed me the CarFax report that showed zero accidents. However, I noticed that repainting had been done on one door so I challenged the report.

A day or so later he provided a record showing only a minor repair of the bumper and said it was a very minor fender bender, so we bought the car. Soon after we had problems with the locks and we've had to have a few things fixed already, and after water was coming in through the windshield and then it cracked, we just found out that it is not the original windshield. The auto was in a worse accident than claimed and the repair was poorly done. CarFax had no record of any accident at all!

We bought a one year old Subaru Forester that was supposed to be in very good condition, but received one that had been a much worse accident and was not worth what we paid for it! We paid CarFax for an incorrect report, and the dishonest seller is using CarFax reports to mislead consumers!
