Incorrect information on Carfax report stating Stuctural and Frame damage - Collison Center who did the repairs is not understanding how they would have received this information and is backing me up on this claim. How can dealerships and individual continue to use and rely on this service when it seems so many are wrong and why are they not accountable when inaccurate information is given out?? This needs to be changed!

My wife and I purchased a 2005 Corvette from Henderson Chevrolet in Las Vegas, NV on November 1, 2006 for 48399.00 assured by our sales person that the car had never been in any accident and was handed a clear carfax that indicated the same. We decided to sell the car recently so I placed an ad on Autotrader.com.

I recieved an inquiry and the gentleman decided to buy the car. He ran a carfax on it and it showed it had been in an accident on 3/18/2006 which, of course, killed the deal. Carfax had 9 months between the accident and the time I bought the car. Carfax did not report that accident for two years after it happened.

Don't they get their information from police reports or State records? How much has this devalued my car? Do I have recourse?

i found the automobile i was looking for online at a dealership in ohio that was a reasonable distance from my house. i researched heavily before my final decision and decided on the jeep commander at bob caldwell. when buying online your resources for examination of the automobile are limited and pretty much reliant on the results of an accredited company such as carfax. the report was pulled right in front of me and came back with only change of ownerships and sales of the vehicle.

i returned home with the vehicle and after about five days of rain i decided to wash it. after washing the vehicle there were undeniable scratches and damages to the paint on the drivers side of the vehicle. not to mention the rear bumper has partially been repainted with a small amount of yellow showing through and paint peeling off. the dealer at bob caldwell told me to take it and get an estimate on the repairs. when the body shop saw the vehicle they informed me that the drivers side of the vehicle had been repainted poorly with no clear coat and the bumper had been spray painted. the salesman at the dealership said he could cover the buffing and waxing of the vehicle but to contact carfax regarding the other issues.

carfax has been notified numerous times without any result or reply and i am very displeased with their service and customer service.
