I purchased Carfax online- the report was pretty much clean- when I went to view the car, the sterring col. was busted from it beingstolen and the car was in an accident- and the milege had been tampered with. I'm extremely upset with this 40 purchase and was denied a refund. DON'T Buy it. it really sounds good- but I feel ripped off.

I wasted my money, and I paid 30 dollars of gas to go and see the vehichle. I'm now out of this money and I feel tormented that I ended up with no car...so embarrssed.

i recently ordered a carfax. i have e-mail them numerous times regarding the 100% satisfaction guaranteed policy. they will e-mail me back and ask if i would like to proceed and i say yes and then that is the end of it. they will not even e-mail me back to let me know what is going on. itys false advertisement to say 100% satisfaction

Mario of San Diego, CA August 1, 2008

Mario of San Diego CA (08/01/08)
I advertised my 2005 Altima for sale and a guy named Sonny came to check out the car. We were about to close the deal when he asked if he can use my computer and get a history of the car. I was surprised that CARFAX revealed there was an accident in Jun 2007 with a reference number of the police report. I am the first owner of the car and there was never any accident at any time since I bought it.

We already shook hands and about to close the deal and the buyer backed out because of this false report by CARFAX. I am pressed for time to sell the car because I am leaving for overseas soon and now I have to suffer and probably sell it really low price because of the false report by CARFAX. I am a 22 year veteran who have not even received a single ticket in the past 35 years that I've been driving and now this is what I get.

I just wish CARFAX realized the pain and disappointment and financial loss they cause from publishing false and apparently unverified reports to the public. I will take my car with anyone (Dealer, DMV, Police) who wants to check if it was ever involved in an accident because I know my true record is clean. I'm just a human being who want to do what is right and expect the same in return from others.

Went online to get a free printout on a vehicle I was going to buy. I went to google and Carfax was number one on the list and it stated free info on the vehicle, just insert the VIN number. I did that and it came back and said there was 9 items and if I wanted to see any it would cost 39.95. That is not free...
