Return of Oreck Air Cleaner - I bought your air cleaner from Canadian Tire for $399.99 plus HST of 13%. It was not capable to clean the air that I needed it for, so after I had used it once, I realized it was not doing as I thought it would. So yesterday, I tried to return it and was told because it was used, I could not get my money back, but I could get another unit. This does not make sense to me. I am 76 and after standing in line for 30 minutes, I was really upset as I have a broken leg. I need to return the unit as it is only a month old tomorrow. What can you do to help me with this? I need a return for this unit and you can send me an email so I can get my money back from Canadian Tire at McLaughlin and Bovaird here in Brampton. Hope to hear from you soon and I will post your answer on the web.
Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I had gone for a tire repair, and asked them to check the brakes. Instead, they came back and told me, I had ball joint and or tierod problems. I found out today that my brakes were toast, and I could have been killed. I called the store, and spoke to the department manager, and he said there was no record of this being said.
Well, they're not keeping good records on my vehicle, and if they're doing this to me, who else are they doing this to. In other words, they are calling me a liar. I have dealt with this particular store for some time, and I think because of this insolence, they should be investigated. Both their books, and their way of doing business.
Please contact me with the info provided. I will not trust the work on my vehicle, to Canadian tire again. I will take my business elsewhere, and tell all of my friends and relatives to stop using the company for their auto repairs. I am disgusted, and karma can be a **!
I have my car in the body shop, getting some work done, and the people there said that my brakes were toast, and I could have been killed. I haven't driven my car in 6 weeks, because it's been in the body shop that long. I'm getting custom work done.

I purchased a battery tender (charger) from Canadian Tire and used it to keep my battery charged while stored in a heated garage over the winter months. When I went to take the car out last spring, I noticed that the battery had exploded and the charger was still hooked up to the battery. The purpose of the charger is to keep the battery charged enough so the computer, clock, etc. doesn't drain and ruin the battery while the vehicle is being stored for long periods of time. I took the charger back to Canadian Tire in Regina.
The parts manager told me that they would need to have their head office deal with this. And I was told to drop the charger off with him and he would have to send it away. They offered me another charger. However, I was not interested as I viewed the chargers as having a safety concern. I later received a call from Canadian Tire's insurance agent (Connie **). She told me that the charger would be sent to the distributor in San Diego, USA and I would have to deal with them for any claim. I told her that I did not agree as Canadian Tire should deal with me directly. I didn't think that I should have to deal with a third party when I purchased the charger from their retail store in the city that I live in. She told me that that was Canadian Tire's policy.
I contacted New Focus Auto Tech Inc. in San Diego, USA (office no: 858-675-9202, fax: 858-675-9206, and mobile: **). They are the distributors and they wanted the charger sent to them so they could test it. I dealt with Irvin ** and he asked that I send pictures of the damage and get an estimate for repairs. I had Wheaton Chev in Regina provide me with an estimate. And I had them clean the engine compartment as acid sprayed onto the hood and on the wiring and hoses etc. I sent Irvin the pictures and estimate as requested. I was hesitant to have the charger sent to them as I was quite sure that they would tell me that there was nothing wrong with it.
However, I went to Canadian Tire and told the parts manager to send it to Irvin. After a few months of not hearing anything, I contacted Irvin. He told me that the pictures were blurry and to send new ones. I took more pictures and sent the same to Irvin. Again, there was no communication from Irvin so I e-mailed him requesting an update. I did not receive a response. So, I e-mailed every e-mail address I could find at Canadian Tire advising them that I now had to get a lawyer involved because of the non-response from anyone regarding my claim.
Shortly thereafter, I received a call from Canadian Tire's insurance agent, Connie **, advising me that the distributor told her the claim was denied as the charger works fine. I told her that I wasn't surprised at their response and that I was uneasy about having the charger sent there, because I thought that it should have gone to a third party for testing. I assume the float on the charger stuck and didn't cut out when the battery got charged to a certain point and subsequently blew the battery apart. Thank God I didn't have my head under the hood when it blew apart!
I told Connie ** that I felt that Canadian Tire should have dealt with this directly and settle my claim and then they should have dealt with the distributor. But Connie said that that was their policy. I told her that Canadian Tire buys a lot of their merchandise from China. So, if I was to purchase something that they purchased from a distributor in China and I had a problem, then would I have to deal with China directly? Something is wrong with the way Canadian Tire conducts their business.
I tried to write two different reviews on their website, warning other consumers about the potential problem with the charger that I purchased. However, both did not make it to their website. I sent Connie ** another e-mail on Oct. 19/11 advising her that I want Canadian Tire's final stand on my claim within 7 days, as I need to understand what my options are. Connie sent me an e-mail on Oct. 28/11 advising that she would get a denial letter from the distributor and would send it to me. That isn't what I asked for. I wanted to have a response from Canadian Tire as to their position, as I know what the distributor's position is already.

We purchased a bike for my daughter on June 20, 2010. On June 21, 2010, she went into the ditch and the brakes did not work. She broke her right wrist, her left arm and dislocated her left elbow. It required surgery to repair and a year visiting the surgeon, it's still not 100%. My husband went into the Canadian tire to talk to the manager about what happened. He told my husband that they were not liable and there was nothing he could do. To this day, we have to adjust the brakes on this bike. My husband said we should just throw it in the garbage, it's like new! She couldn't ride it last year. I'm frustrated with how we were brushed off and no one is responsible for this bike's bad brakes.

I bought four tires from Canadian Tire two years ago (around $850). After eight months of driving (one year and four months, around 13k km), the front right tire started to leak, leaking 7-8 lbs. per week. So I drove my car to Canadian Tire since it came with a lifetime warranty.
When I went back to pick up my car, they said nothing happened and they don't know why it was leaking. I was worried so I asked if it is suitable to drive. They replied it's all right, that I am good to go. After that checking, the tires are even worst, leaking 10 lbs. per week. However, I trusted them. First, this company is big; second, the mechanic was very sure that it's fine.
Until two months ago, I brought my car to a local auto repair center to have a routine check. The mechanic there told me that three out of four of my tires are cracked; one of the three is fully cracked and the other two are 1/2 cracked. He lifted my car up to show me where the cracks are (on the other side of the tires) and explained the way that the tires cracked was very unusual and dangerous. He also said only defected tires or old tires would crack like that. My tires are only two years, it should not crack like that. So I went to Canadian Tire on the same day, told their manager what happened. He asked a mechanic to check my car. After checking himself as well, he agreed that having three out of four tires cracked is very unusual. So I requested a refund instead of exchange because I don't trust their products anymore, especially after I came back to check my tires eight months ago and they said there was no problem. Then he replied that no matter what, we will not do any refund, but we can exchange you four same brand, same type of tires. I refused. If only one out of four is cracked, I will for sure accept the exchange. However, having three out of four cracked loses all my confidence to Canadian Tire products. I could have died if one of the tires came out while driving on a highway in the past eight months. There was another person who brought the same type of tires that I bought and commented on Canadian Tire's website, having the same issues as I do. Canadian Tire should really take responsibility to what they sell to their customers. Never buy any tire from Canadian Tire!

I went into Canadian Tire located at 5404 Dalton Dr NW Calgary at 8:30 pm on July 1, 201. My mission was to purchase Charmin toilet paper (16 double rolls = 32 single rolls). It was advertised at $5.47 per package.
I went to the cashier and she rang it in as $9.97. I told her it was advertised in their flyer for $5.47. She called the manager and both the manager and I got into a shouting match, at which point the manager told me that she will not honor the price that was in the flyer because the printers of the flyer made a mistake and that it was not Canadian Tire's problem. I have with me a copy of a receipt from another Canadian Tire who honored the sale price in the flyer.

Since I purchased the Brushed Stainless Dome Kettle - Red Electric Kettle (I love the look.), the water level indicator has been cracking.... and then leaking. I love the kettle and would love another one, but I read the reviews and it sounded like the leaking is a common problem. I feel that Black and Decker should replace this product. Please advise as to where I need to send my product. Thanks, Angie.

I bought a Coffeemaker at Canadian Tire . Lovely looking machine! But what a disappointment with the carafe. It doesn't pour well at all. Coffee all over the place. Please could you make arrangements to exchange it for one that works. Thank you .

I also have one of your twelve cup coffee makers and I have put a piece of tape over the overflow hole at the back so when I move the coffee machine, it won't spill. Filling the coffee machine takes twice as long because if you poor fast, the coffee pot drips and it's next to impossible to poor a cup of coffee without it dripping. Bad Design! I feel like throwing it through the front door of the store some mornings. I'll never buy Black and Decker again!

I'm not sure if you're the right person or not, but could you please forward this to the appropriate person? I took my truck in, to get it serviced on June 27th. As I thought, my starter had died on me. I got it towed to the CT in Belleville, Ontario. I got a call on Monday saying everything was good, and ready to be picked up.
I went in and paid my bill, with invoice number **. I went out to get my truck, and as I was about to close the door, the inside handle was completely broken. I went back inside, and spoke to the person who I paid my bill to, and explained what I found. He said, "well let's look at your bill, as we always make a comment on it, if we find anything like that". There was no comment written on it.
He found another copy of it, and someone did write on it "handle broken". This was not broken when I dropped it off on Saturday. He said that's the way they found it, so there was nothing he could do about it. I went back out to my truck but I realized, that was not right. I went back in to speak to a manager, but there was one waiting for me. He said that, since someone wrote "handle broken", that it was not their fault. This was not broken when I dropped it off. I suggested that whoever broke it, immediately wrote that down, but I was told that was not likely the case.
They blamed it on me or the tow truck driver. I know it wasn't broken, and I locked it all up before I left on Saturday night, and everything was fine then. What bugs me the worst is that, someone from this store, is lying to me. I don't believe this is an expensive thing to fix, but I feel I've been cheated and lied to. I've been a loyal customer of CT all my life. Currently I'm 36. I have a 95 Chev Silverado, that needs a driver's door inside handle replaced, and fixed. I am not responsible for this as someone at CT Belleville broke this. I would appreciate a response at your earliest convenience. I cannot open the drivers door from the inside, I have to roll down my window and open it from the outside. This will be a costly repair that Canadian Tire should be responsible for.

On February 27, 2010 at 15:41, my son went to Canadian Tire in Alexandria to purchase a hockey stick for a family fun game at 22:00 that same night. In the warm ups, he received a pass to his new stick and the middle of the stick shaft exploded.
The stick is still in one piece but the shaft is now hollow. He was on the ice for less than 5 minutes using his new stick before it broke. On February 28, 2010 (the following day), my son goes back to Canadian Tire in Alexandria to show them the stick and they bluntly denied him refund or exchange. This is a Sherwood wood hockey stick purchased priced $29.99+taxes that obviously was a manufacturer problem with it.
A stick does not explode the way this one did by receiving a small pass. The stick is still in one piece but the middle part of the shaft is dry and now hollow. I feel that customer satisfaction has not been met. I also feel that it is not fair that a hockey stick that has been used for less than 5 minutes should result in a consumer lost of money. I would like to see a full refund from the store as this was not a good product and they should return this product to their supplier.

Thanks for the opportunity to express my complaints to someone who can make a difference.
