I purchased my first vehicle in September 2010. I got a 2002 Mercury Mountaineer. I put all my money into this vehicle. I traded in a 93 Corolla that was in excellent shape and got stuck with a piece of **. I advised the seller if this vehicle would make it long distance and he said "yes". 2 weeks into my purchase I drove from Pomona to Landcaster and broke down. I had to pay a tow truck $450 to take the car home plus an additional 100 bucks to have it towed to the dealer. The day my car stranded me in a mountain side, I called raising hell. They responded "not my problem" so the following day I took the car back and argued with the sales man. He offered to go half on the repair. I had to pay an additional $200 for a transmission flush. After that the salesman refused to write m a written document or receipt.
He made up a big excuse why it wasn't written up. I then asked if it is in good shape and a mechanic says yeah. I couldn't trust their "yes" answers so I took my car to Ford dealership and they said I needed a new transmission. Due to their prices I went to get another diagnostic test elsewhere. I found a place to fix my transmission for a reasonable price. But as soon as he opened the transmission he stated this vehicle was never flushed due to the black fluid. He also stated that "it was a miracle I've been able to drive this car due to all the missing and broken pieces found inside the transmission." In total I have put in more money than the value of the car when I purchased it. I know there is not much to do towards this company since the ** me legally. All I advise to others don't bother purchasing car here unless you have a mechanic you trust to review the cars. Don't be the next victim. I have to pay for a car that was worse than the car I traded in. Thanks, La Sierra Motors, for the kick in the ass.
