I took my car in on Saturday and asked if they could repair the distributor because I thought it needed to be repaired. It was making a noise and I was told it needed a new distributor by my sons. I had my son drive it in and I came in to give the service man my cell number and charge card number and asked him to call me if he found anything else wrong with the car. I had my son pick up the car and charged the $300.00 to my credit card. Five days later the distributor caught on fire and the car stalled.
I had it towed into the dealership that performed the work and I was called with a price of $45.00 to diagnose the problem. I told them it was the distributor that caught on fire and that they needed to repair the car correctly. I then got a call saying it was not their job; it was the coil in the car and they were afraid that this would happen. He said it would cost $680.00 to repair the damage caused by the coil. I asked that they put it in writing so I could go to the coil comany. I feel that they should have repaired the car and stood by the repair. In five days the car caught fire because of the job they did. Please help me - I am being abused by this dealership.
My son had to miss college classes and will set his graduation date back, which will in turn cost additional money. I had to leave work and have the car towed to the shop. The car caught on fire and ruined the custom paint job. I was mistreated by the service man and his manager and it affected my entire day at work. I spent several hours on the phone trying to get some assistance. My cell phoned was on hold for 35 minutes calling American Honda which again put me on hold and never came back to me or would take my address or phone number. My son has to miss more school because he doesn't have a car and the dealership won't even pay for a rental car.
