I bought my Hyundai and I was told that I had to do certain things like pay a lot of money on certain things they offered as part of the contract to get the loan and rate I wanted; I did what they asked. I had the car for almost a week and then they told me that I must have a new contract because the loan did not get approved on me but the new contract was all new numbers that I did not agree to and they were being very pushy and demanding that I signed these papers; they even told me that they were coming to my job. I said that I do not want it at these terms and the finance man said that it's too bad, I have to keep it. It is a used car now.
When I had found out the laws exactly and my options, they were not happy. I had a few minor issues and things to talk with my salesman and the dealership, like they did not program either of my keys but now that the deal was sealed, I could never get anyone to take my calls. So when I finally called one night and could not get Russ on the phone, I expressed my feelings calmly about this nightmare and the salesman, who said he was the person/boss that night, went bolistic on me making Mel Gibson look tame.
He started by putting down nurses. I said I work at a hospital but I am not a nurse and he stopped bashing them. I said what does this have to do with my issue. He yelled some more and told me that I was crazy and then I said, well what you do for a living is exactly why car salesmen have the reputation they do and it's not a real job. He went off at the top of his voice that he could buy and sell me. I told him that I had no idea what that meant and I asked to speak to someone above him. He said that there was not anyone there above him; I asked to speak to anyone but him. He said no and hung up on me.
I called back to speak to my salesman Russ. He got on the phone and in the background was that man telling him to hang up on me and he did. I told the Better Business Bureau and Hyundai corporate case number ** on August 2nd 2010.
I have never received any type of apology or explanation from anyone. I now own a car that every time I look at it or get in it, I am reminded of that nightmare. If this call was in person, he would have hit me. I expected to have a relationship with the salesman and dealership for a car I will have for a very long time but I am too scared to go there. When I went to a different Hyundai to get both of my keys programmed, it would have cost me over a $100.00. I only can get it done for free by the one I got the car from and I am too scared to go there.
