Lela of Ontario, CA, writes:

I took my 1995 Ford Windstar in for a tune-up, for two recalls and because the check engine light was on. I got the tune-up and the recall work was supposedly done. They said they replaced two sensors but only the sensor on top was replaced. I had to go back four different times at the end; they wanted $859, which was $271 more than their original request. They were very mad because I needed a rental car and I reported this to the manager.

Two weeks later I went to the bank to go to turn on the car. It started to smoke, then it was fine after two blocks, and then it stopped again. I had it towed to an auto shop. I'm now out $2246 for repairs, $336 for a rental car, my nerves were in shock, I had to stay with my mother. I don't know what to do the Windstar; it's still not running right. Who do I blame - Discount Auto (where I bought the van), Ford, who I trust to fix it, the factory?

The 1995 Ford Windstar is notorious for head gasket problems as detailed at great length elsewhere on our site.
