This organization franchises used car dealers around the country. On its recruitment Web site, it waxes poetic about its vision, which it describes as: "Build a national chain of used car sales and sub prime finance dealerships that consistently meets or exceeds the expectations of our customers, associates, and franchise partners." Maybe, but we're not sure the Kentucky Attorney General would agree.

Purchased a car from J.D. Byride in November of 2007. The car was repossesed when I made an early payment. The car has had an overheating problem, and uses a lot of oil. The car was up for inspection this month, November 2008. It did not pass the imessions because the computer system was a mess. I am paying 12,000.00 for a car that is worth blue book 1,500.00. Also I had a fender bender with the car.

J.D. Byrider will not sign the check over till I fix the car. They also called my insurance company and told them I was comitting insurance fraud. I noe have a car that I can not drive or fix that I am paying 161.25 every two weeks for. Can not drive to and from work, must ask for a ride or borrow someones car. The stree has caused me to have irregular heart beats.

Bought 2000 Chevy Impala, changed job's refused to change the due date on my car payment's. Tena would call my home leave messages to make my car payment or they'd reposs vehicle. Tena would call my employer saying to call their office.

On June 21st she threaten me again I told her to come get their damn car the key's were in the glove box. They never picked it up.

On Friday the 13th of July we took the car to the car lot and handed over the keys.

On Monday, the 16th I signed release paper's stating the reason I turned the vehicle in because they refused to work with me on the car payment's due date.

On July 20th received a phone call from Denny saying they could rewrite the loan but I'd have to pay another down payment, pay all past due payments, as well as storage fee. I told him NO the company wouldn't work with me then I will never do business with them again.

Starting July 23rd I got phone calls from a salesmen named Mike I'm just calling to see if you'd be interested in a car loan call me at 330-458-000 and ask for Mike.

Stress because I was being charged a late fee, constant phone calls on the answering machine, phone calls being made to my employer to give a message to me, and I had to reschedule my work so it didn't interferre with my brother working until I could go get another car for myself, sending me a letter stating I defaulted on the loan, I didn't have insurance on the car when I did up till July 31st full coverage, and then the company having nerve to call my unlisted phone number asking me if I wanted to come in for another car loan. That went on for 2 month's tell I finally threaten to press charges against them in September. Now I get a phone call from my employer saying they are going to garnish my wages for this damn car for over 6,000. and yet they didn't do a damn thing to my daughter and son-in-law when they turned in their vehicle or my brother when he turned in his truck because they didn't do repair's properly on it. I have only 5 days to appeal the case.

I purchased a 2000 chevy Venture in 2005, I still have the Venture but with a great deal of headache. It has cost me close to 2000.00 dollars just to keep it running. I will never by another car from them again. They are very harrassing. But what get me is this, My son wrecked my van August 17th 2008, my Insurance Compan totaled it, so the paid over 1700 top JD byrider, I kept it because I have not been able to buy another one just yet. So I get a statement in the mail that says what my current balance is 1,139.81 and that my next payment due date is February 2009. so I said well ok at least I will not have to deal with them for a while.

I get a call on October 16th saying that my payment is late. I thought WHAT!!!! I don't owe anyting until February so of course they are threatening to take the Van when all I owe is 1139.00, It is paid up until 2009 according to them. I am so tired of dealing with them. They constantly call and harrass me, in the situation they are completley in the wrong, but they make it look like I am the one. Then they lied to me saying that I knew I owed I am just trying to get out if. GOd knows I am telling the truth

Lakievia of Augusta, GA July 19, 2008

In 2006, my husband and I purchased a car from JD Byrider. It was the worst mistake we have ever made! At the time, neither of us really knew anything about buying a car from a dealership but in retrospect, it was an aweful deal and experience. We decided to go to JD Byrider because we really needed a car (obviously) and from the commercials we were made to believe that they would help us get into a car if we had an income. So, we went to JD Byrider and the nightmare began.

When we spoke to the salesman he asked why we needed a car and we explained our reasons for needing a car. Then he proceeded to show us some cars that he felt we would like while he explained that we can only buy a car that we need, not that we want. We didn't really think to much about that because we just assumed this was how they helped people and it was a part of the program. To make a long story short we ended up having to choose between two cars. We test drove both cars but one car made a knocking sound when you made a turn so we got stuck with a 1997 Chevy Lumina worth about 1200 now (remember we really needed a car).

We started proceeding to agree to buy the car because we thought we could afford the car. We didn't think 360/mo for the car was to bad for a payment and that it was something we could afford. However, we had to make the payment bi-weekly and the car costed us about 10,000 which comes to about 18,000 after interest. So, we still owe about 5,600 on a car that is worth 1,200! We were so dumb. Not only did we pay more than 5x's what the car is actually worth we paid it for a car that we really didn't choose.

We have been paying for the car for about two years now but now they want to take my car because I needed to pay 74 yesterday and I want them to wait 2 weeks. They have been calling all day today and yesterday over 74. I understand I owe 74 and 2 weeks is a little long but I will pay for the car like I have been. The whole deal was screwed anyway because they are PREDATORY!

Since I purchased the car I have learned all about and protested against PREDATORY LENDERS. PREDATORY LENDERS exploit people and prey on those that are desperate and in need. JD Byrider has locked us in a bad deal and I wish I would have known what I know now.

At this point, I have paid so much money to JD Byrider for a car that isn't even worth 1,500! The are harassing me about 74 and want to take the car. They told me to park my car in the parking lot until I can pay the 74 but I just want to call back and tell them to pick it up because they can have it back. They can repossess my car because I can buy a better car for less than it would cost to pay off the Chevy and its repairs. AS far as I am concerned, I have already paid at least 3xs as much to them as they probably paid to purchase the car.
