This organization franchises used car dealers around the country. On its recruitment Web site, it waxes poetic about its vision, which it describes as: "Build a national chain of used car sales and sub prime finance dealerships that consistently meets or exceeds the expectations of our customers, associates, and franchise partners." Maybe, but we're not sure the Kentucky Attorney General would agree.
Melani of 314 Ballard St IA (02/12/09) I recently went to Shottenkirk in Fort Madison to purchase a vehicle and they said that my loan was denied based on a vehicle repossesion at JD BYRIDER. I contacted CNAC and spoke with Trina. She looked into their files and couldnt find any car loan that I had there, because I have never purchased or co-signed any loans for that company. On my credit report it lists a 6,531 involantry auto repossesion and I was told that there wasn't anything that they could do for me regarding this matter. I DID NOT PURCHASE OR FINANCE A VEHICLE WITH THIS COMPANY AND I WOULD LIKE IT OFF MY CREDIT REPORT!
I had to find a co-signer to finance my vehicle. I have four children and am trying to restablish my credit and this does not help. Jamillia of Jacksonville, FL February 2, 2009
Jamillia of Jacksonville FL (02/02/09) I purchased a 2000 grand prix in sept.08. since day 1 this car has given me problems on top of problems. everytime I take it to the service dept the claim to fix something but it never is. I have spoken to many people about this car but it seems to not be working. im tired of going through this. when it comes to their money they don't hesitate to call. I just wanna get rid of this car without it hindering my credit because I had the same issues with them. it was automotion auto sales on beaver st here in jacksonville. they had 2 give me 2 cars and they both were lemons. Christine of Lawrencevile, IL January 31, 2009
Christine of Lawrencevile IL (01/31/09) I went to JD in November 2007 to get a car because the car I had was having trouble with the front end. I thought we were getting good deal because we didn't have the money for a large down payment. We got a blue Kia (blue lemon)to start with. Within the first three months we had the car it had to be towed back the the shop to be fixed eight times. This car could not be fixed. After not getting any satification from the company we went to corporate aobut the breaking down of the car and them having it more than we did with in the first three months.
Corporate made them trade us cars to one that would actually run for more than a week. They gave us a Buick LeSabre. We have now had this car for ten months. Since we got the Buick we have been asking the service department to fix a sensor on it. It has been to the service center many time and still has the old nonworking sensor in it. Now we are dealing with the motor in the Buick. In November the intake valve blew. They towed it in and took three days to fix it. leaving us with no car.
A week later the whole motor blew on the car on the interstate, leaving us stranded for hours beside the road. We had to call into work the next day because we were stranded so far from home, causing my husband to loose his job. We had to rent a car to get home. They replaced to motor with a used motor. Two weeks later they had to come and tow it again because the in take on the used motor blew. Now two months later the motor is knocking and leaking oil, the car has to go back to the shop leaving us with no car once again.
My husband has lost his job by car breaking down and his not being able to get to work. I have missed two days of work at 8.00 for this car breaking down. Marie of Joliet, IL January 16, 2009
Marie of Joliet IL (01/16/09) I used to work for this company and I have seen first hand, them running unauthorized credit cards numerous amounts of times. The finance manager, Johnathan K., has made employees search through month old credit card information slips that were supposed to be destroyed but were instead stuffed in boxes and had the employees run any past due customers to ensure he would hit his numbers. I've seen him accidently repo vehicles and he has given blank sheets of paper for customers to sign. This is a VERY unprofessional business just out to make money and they dont care who they have to walk all over to get it. Just the other day I've seen him repeatedly call a gentlemans mothers house for hours upon hours, harrassing this poor woman simply because he is getting paid to do it. Something needs to be done about this business before they push more and more people furthur into debt illeaglly.
Monica of Winston Salem, NC December 29, 2008
Monica of Winston Salem NC (12/29/08) Please help, I went to JD byrider after they had gotten my number by enternet surfing. I ended up buying a 02 Ford Tarus on July 2, 2008. To this date which is Dec. 27,2008 I have had so many problems with it. Upon test drive it would not start. That should have been my red flag. The next day I had it home my check engine light came on. Then weeks later the car begain cutting off with out warning. Several times I was doing more than 45 mph.
On Sept. 26, 2008 the car shut down while I was driving in the rain with my kids on board. A police officer had to help my dad get it over to a safe place in the road. I then had it towed and when the car arrived to the dealership it started with no problem. I have been over charged. My car is only worth 1500.00 but they charged me 12,000 with 7,000 finace fee plus 1,600 down. I was told I only had to put down 1200. I now have a paymnet of 377.00 a month.
I'm pretty much stuck no one will trade with me because the car is worth nothing. I was over charged and misslead to think I was buying a quality vehical. Which to sale quality vehicals is part of their mission statment. What are my options. I pay way to much a month for a car that is out of service every other month, I have only had this car 6 months. The corperate office knows about how they got over on me. Now they won't even give me a better car. Sarah of Knoxville, TN December 2, 2008
