On its recruitment Web site, it waxes poetic about its vision, which it describes as: "Build a national chain of used car sales and sub prime finance dealerships that consistently meets or exceeds the expectations of our customers, associates, and franchise partners." Maybe, but we're not sure the Kentucky Attorney General would agree. Suzanne of Medfield, MA July 22, 2009 I purchased a 2003 Bravada in July 09. Not only was the down payment not 99.00 as advertised, I paid 1500.00. I had the car back to them twice for front end work. I now have a crack in the manifold that has been there for 6 months because I cant afford to fix it and it isnt covered under either warrranty. My boyfriend lost his job, so financially we were strapped, but we continued making payments on this awful vehicle. We recieved a letter from JD Byrider that we were 17 days late on paymment. 360.00. 6 Days later they came to Repo the car. Now not only do I have to pay 360.00 for a crappy vehicile, I also have to pay the repo fee of 300.00. Tiffany of Effort, PA July 19, 2009 On Feb. 15, 2008 i financed a 2004 Dodge Stratus from JD Bryder in allentown. Once i drove off the light the engine light came on indicating their was a problem. I immediately called them to tell them about my engine light coming on after i just drove off the lot to work. They had me come in that morning and they told me a was a small sensor issue but they took care of it. As time went on the car developed other issues but the biggest issue up to date is the engine. At times the car would shut off while sitting at a light and then it was time where it wouldn't start at all. It is very frustrating because i am still paying on this car and i don't want to be stuck with a vehicle that i can't drive. I have a child, which i don't feel comfortable even having my child in the vehicle. I work late nights and their have been times when coming home my car was stalling or the engine keeps knocking. It is a very unsafe and uneasy feeling. I just went to my mechanic to have the vehicle checked out and his exact words were that is not to be repaired, the engine is going to blow up (meaning it will die on me very soon which is why the car keep cutting off on me.) I tried many times to work something out with them but they refused. But they want me to continue to pay for a vehicle that is unsafe to drive and they just inspected the car this past march. Which they passed when it wasn't supposed to have been passed at all. I really can't afford to get another car and pay for this vehicle. I shouldn't be responsible for making these payments when they are not doing their jobs by providing me with a working vehicle. Yolanda of Tampa, FL June 20, 2009 My car was taken to J D Byrider Jun.8th I received a call on Tuesday that the engine needed to be replaced and that it's covered under warranty.I got a call on Friday the 12th from David that I need a calsyst converter and a radiator.David called me back stating he have good news it's not the coverter the radiator was clogged so bad it needs to be replaced.I asked him could it be flushed I was told no I also asked could it be replaced from the salvage place where the engine came from David told me no it had to be rplaced with a new one.I was told about the radiator after the engine was put in and test drove on Friday. David told me to call the finance dept. so payment arrangments could be made on what I owe bacause the radiator wasn't covered under the warranty.I spoke with Nisshon today Jun.15th several times before he told me to come in and pay 100. and they would add 37.and I don't remember the change amount. When I got there Nisshon told me to pay the cashier and then come into the office to sign the paperwork. Before I did that I went out to the car looking inside cranking it and looking under the hood alone with the lady that was with me.I was asking questions the finance man said he couldn't answer his response was he's just the finance person I've got to talk to David he tried calling him but no answer. I asked to see the bill nothing is on the bill except" needs radiator before she drive this car home".There is a price of a radiator cap for 6.09.Because the engine was under warranty my co-pay is 26.75 I can fax you a copy of the bill I got from Nisshon before leaving I can be reached at home number given above.Just to mention before my son-in-law towed the car and prior to it breakin down you could see the water circulating thru the radiator. On the bill it't doesn't state the price for a radiator nor a warranty nothing with mileage or warranty for engine. Please help my husband have been in and out of hospital since Nov. last year and he've been in there now for the last past 4 months on a ventilator it's my only transportation and having problems getting back and forth to see my husband eddy of phx, AZ June 20, 2009 I am currently looking for a car thanks to jdByryder my credit is shoot and I cant get anything financed. This is what happened to me,I went to jdbyryder because I needed a car and I didn't have much of a down payment to give for a car.I saw an ad for them and i decided to give them a call, I talked to the salesman and he assured me that he would help me get a car.I went to the dealership to apply for a loan I was accepted and was given the keys to a 99 dodge. The first day i got the car it started making noises so i took it back they said they would fix it and have it ready for me in 3 days it,took them almost two weeks I called many times and asked about it all they told me was that they needed more time to get a certain part for the car, they were taking to long so I decide to take a bus down to the dealer.rebokWhen i got there I saw my car on the lot ready to be sold again I couldn't believe it I went inside and ask for management if you could even call them that he was very unhelpful all he would say is talk to the salesman i cant help you my hands are tied behind my back!!!......On top of all that they wanted me to pay for the entire time they had the car in the shop when before everything they had told me I wouldn't have to pay since I never really had the car.Upset as I could possibly be I told them keep the car I am not paying you a dime, aside form the bad service and outrageous prices this place is terrible they rip people off they take advantage of people and the hard times people fall in to I hope that our voices are herd and JDBYRYDER gets shut down for good!!!!! George of Tobyhanna, PA June 12, 2009 My car has NO Alarm, but the Theft System continues to activate which, disables me from using the car at all. This has happened to me Twice and I had to have the vehicle towed and repaired twice which cost me 350.00 each time and I would have to pay the car note, which i feel is very unfair due to the fact that I am financing the vehicle from J.D. Byrider, I am currnet with my payment when I first started financing the vehicle there was never any alarm system. This is the third time I had this problem they promised me that they would fix the problem, then when I had the car towed to them they changed they story and told me it was my problem and if I wanted it fixed that I would have to have the car towed to a Chevy Dealership where I would have to pay for Labor at 90.00 and the cost of correcting the problem for the car. I was advised by Jason that it would be very costly. Currently the car is back on J.D. Byryder Property and I feel as why should I make a car payment for a vehicle that I dont have and secondly I cant use due to the car constantly malfunctioning, They are threating to contiue payment for the car or they are going to have my wages garnished. I no longer can Drive to and and from work anymore Susan of Largo, FL June 10, 2009 I purchased a 2002 suv on 4/27/09 with a 500.00 down payment. I was required to pay 600.00 in deferred payments by 5/23/09 which I did. My first contract payment was due on 6/7/09. I called and said I had to pay the payment of 180.00 on 6/12/09. They now have 1100.00 of mine. Collections called and said I need to go to JD Byrider to talk to Manny about my late payment. It turns out since I can't pay the payment on time they kept the suv and my money of 1100.00. They said to collect my belongings from the vehicle and there I was in there parking lot with my daughter. Stranded and in disbelief. Carol of Old Washington, OH June 6, 2009 Took car in for repairs this is where I purchased my car, the told me that the parts that needed repaired where unred warranty, so I had it towed to be fixed. When they firsr called me to tell me my car was fixed the only fixed the front wheel barins and not the other issues with my car.Two dats later they call me say my car is ready to pick up and even though one of the parts wasnt under warrantt they fixed it anyway. So I get in my car and it will not start so I had to get a jump. I turn on the hearter it does not work they did not fix the blower which they said they did, also my car starts to sputter the next day which they said they fixed that part also. I look under the hood of my car and they put eletrical tape on a spark plug wire instead of replacing it. I payed for repairs on my car that were not done and Mike told me they were done. Something needs to be done this is so unfair. Carolyn of Winston Salem, NC May 29, 2009 I purchased a car from this car dealership hoping to restore my credit. One day I asked for a print out of my payment history and when I received this form I didnot look at it right away, But once I got home and reviewed this statement I notices the first five payment was not applied to the balance of the car and when Iasked to speak to someone about it the lady that I spoke to gave me some kind of story about thats they way they do and I told her that it not suppose to be done that way. all monies suppose to be applied toward the balance of the car. All the payment you make suppose to go toward to balance of the car. Then she goes on to tell if I had a morgage and I go home and look at it, it is the same way. the first few payment you make does not go to the house it go somewhere else. I told her I have never heard of anything like this in my life. I told her I was gone to try and get out of this car. I have been to several local car dealer and they told me I owed too much money on this car so I cant get out of it. But I can get a car with some money down and me keeping the car, but then I would have two car payment and I am not trying to have two car payment. When I first bought the car I told the guy that does the fianceing that I need to know how much this car was going to cost me but I never got a price on this car, and they video tape you when you are filling out the paper work and this was one of the question of the paper work did the sale person quote you the price of the car and I said no. I am not signing that because he never told me the price of the car. It was me and my daughter and the fiance guy in the room. I have been trying to get out this car for awhile now. Zharim of San Antonio, TX May 25, 2009 I recently purchased a vehicle, (2000 Chrysler Town and Country), I took my vehicle home and on my way home the "Check Engine Light" turned on and there was a strange sound coming fron the engine bay. The following day I took the vehicle back to the dealer and they servicec the vehicle replacing the radiator cooling fan and replacing the Evap Canister. I went and picked up the vehicle at around 6:20pm and when I took it I noticed that the A/C was not working so I let them know before I took the vehicle, when the checked the vehicle I was told that it was the A/C Compressor taht was lock so they told me that for the folling day by 1:00pm the vehicle would be ready, When I called to notify that I was on my way to pick it up they told me it would not be ready for about three days but it wasn't ready. When I was finally able to take the vehicle home again the "Check Engine Light" turned back on and the vehicle overheated. The Check Engine light was this time supposedly from the Torque Converter. So they sent it to get the Torque Converter replaced and also replaced the Cooling Fan since the first time they replaced the fan it was with an aftermarket cooling fan much smaller than required, causing the vehicle to overheat. After I took the vehicle home again on my way home the vehicle overheated again, when I called the dealer they told me to take it back and when I asked if they would loan me another vehicle they said NO. I'm still waiting on the overcome of this transaction but would like to have the deal cancelled and my money refunded. Michael of Phoenix, AZ May 9, 2009 WE bought are 1999 Chevrolet caviler from JD BUY RIDER in 2/07 my wife noticed that they pulled it out of the back where they service the car they had us take it for ride noticed that car had some problems with the coolant Gage told them about it the salesman gill said they would have it checked out the service manager said their was nothing wrong with it so we toulk the car home a few weeks later we heard a popping noise they told us to bring it in and they would get to it as soon as the could well 3 days later they called us to pick it up they had replaced the rack and dog bone and some other thing well the heat gauge was acting up so we called and they told us to bring it in 2 days later they told us to pick the car up they suposible replaced the over flow tank and cap and replaced radiator well a couple of months later the car did it a gain and broke down and so they toed it in when we bought the car they told us that tow was included in the warranty witch that was not true we payed 50.00 + 25.00 co pay so we payed it so long story short the car has been a problem since day one and all they did was make excuses in the beginning they got us a rental car that's after we made a big stink about it we complained to the BBB and they came up with the excuse that they had accommodated with a rental car and didn't charge us now are 99 chev cav is sitting in our drive way broke once again and they said we were out of warranty so they told us to bring car in and they would see what was wrong the car was bogging down no power they told us they could not figure it and suposible spent 400 dollars in parts and told us to take it to the dealer to have it checked out they thought it was computer problem /wire harness it was not the daler said their were major eng problem with possible hed fracture and the funny thing is they replaced that also the dealer said the thought the put the wrong size hed in we called jd and the service manager said they refuse to fix it then we complained to CNAC ther fiance co they said we are not part of JD buy rider they didn't seem to care all they want is money so they said when we get to 2500 they would do a traid in and i said what for another lemon | |||
