BMW would not cover my car battery because they stated it was not a warranty issue. They told me to pay $300 for it out of my pocket. I took my car over to Irvine BMW and they stated it was covered through warranty. My car is 16 months old with less then 17,000 miles. These guys are crooks!

Suddenly the reverse gear went out on the transmission and it would pull out in any gear including neutral. I had the transmission rebuilt at which time the mechanic said "all of the gears were melted together" and this is something he has seen numerous times, more than one a week with various models of BMW. One week later, the rebuilt transmission did exactly the same thing. The mechanic researched and found a new way to "vent" the transmission so it will keep it from getting too hot and overheating but that is a lot of money later! Transmission failed twice in two weeks!

I am outraged with this organization. I purchased a certified pre-owned vehicle in April 2005. I told the sales representative that I would only purchase the vehicle if I could get a warranty plan with it that would last as long as the 60-month note. I was trying to avoid a car payment and a big repair bill in the same month.
I knew I would not exceed the 100,000 mileage due to the close proximity of my job. My only concern was the length of the warranty. He sold me a 100,000/72 month extended warranty. I took it in for service this Monday (2/1/10) and the dealership is trying to charge me $2,500.00 because they say it is out of warranty. I am being told that the 72-month period actually started when the vehicle was originally retailed--which was November 2003. That is outrageous! Why the hell would I purchase an extended warranty from the time I didn't even own the vehicle? This is ludicrous.
The salesman committed fraud and all their customer service can say is sorry about that. I will never purchase a BMW again. I have consistently experienced bad service from them. Stay away from the Silver Spring dealership, their service is horrible. In fact, I'd stay away from BMW altogether. I had no idea they had such negative PR on the Internet until I started researching them.

He lied to me to get the sale.

i have a bmw 530d sport registered on 25/03/2003, at the end of june i noticed on the near side rear door ther was a slight appearance of rust at the base of the door. after a closer inspection on the inside of the door there was more rust. i drove it straight to a dealer the next day. they told me to take it to one of there approved bodyshops. he took pictures and said i will post this claim off straight away as it was 3 months out of its anti corrosion warranty, hoping they would approve it i was dissapointed when it was refused, to me the rust was growing before it expired as it doesnt appear overnight they still said no BMW dont do good will gestures, thanks very much BMW 34,000 of car that is rusting more than an old triumph what a waste of money
