If I could give them no stars, I would. They sold me a car, which, after 44 days in my possession, blew up. I have two mechanics, who both say it's the dealers fault. I'm currently filing a lawsuit against them, and would strongly recommend anyone else who has had these same problems, to do the same.
Consumer Complaints & Reviews

When I applied for car, I told them I was a single mother with 3 children and need a dependable and reliable vehicle. We went through the lot and looked at this van that looked like it was in good shape. I said yes. They said they needed to clean it and do a little testing to it before it's ready. I agreed to it. When I got it, the head light on driver went out the 2nd day I had it. The window on the driver side would not roll up in place. The passenger wouldn't roll down or up. The back rear window was popped out. The tires were bald and bad. I noticed in 2 days of driving that when I turn my wheel to the right, it would click. I was so excited that I had gotten a full tank of gas. My kids and I got sick from the gas smell that was venting in the vehicle.
I told them about all the problems that I was having. They told me that they were able to get me a loaner and I can leave the van there. I agreed on it. They called me back stating that they were not able to get me a loaner and that I needed to leave the van there for about 4 days for them to get to it. They said that they were not able to even guarantee that everything will be fixed. I finally got sick to where I was telling them that I was a single mother and they sold me a crappy car. I was always on time with my payments. I was never late. I even did my income tax with them to pay it off sooner.
They finally decided to fix one problem which was the gas smell. After that problem was fixed, a medal pipe in the van for my coolant cracked. I told them about it and they told me they would not fix it. They said that if they fixed everything on the van, it was like selling me a brand new van! I was very upset. I would not deal with this car dealership and will not ever recommend it to anyone else, because they rip off people and sell them crappy vehicles. The payment center is the worst. They state, "Buy here. Pay here." I've had 4 different companies that I've had to pay too. Please do not go there for any vehicle.

This is the worst car lot ever. I bought a 2004 Chevy Monte Carlo from here. I explained that I needed a reliable car to get to and from work. Within two months, I had to replace two tires. On the third month, the radiator cracked because the battery was way to big for the car (the battery did not fit in the battery compartment). I got the radiator replaced but the car still runs hot.
After spending about $600.00 trying to get the car running, my mechanic showed me that the car had no thermostat and it had slug around the heads. Who sells a car in hot ** Arizona with no thermostat? He then informed me that the heads on the car were bad and the slug was something used to make the car continue to run. I called Simple Car Store and their only suggestion was to bring the car back and pay down on a different car. They knew that the car was no good but sold it to me anyway. If you value your money and time, do not shop here because they will ** you over.

This is the worst possible decision anyone can do! In theory, they have a great program that has the potential to help a lot of people. In practicality, they are scam artists and would do anything to make a buck. Since purchasing a car with them, I have had nothing but problems. Since buying the car, I have basically rebuilt the engine, radiator, alternator, battery, brakes, head gasket and there's still a lot wrong with it and it won't pass inspection. I took it back about 4 times and each time, they claimed to fix all the problems, only to have another one arise within a week.
The last time I took it back for electrical problems and when they gave the car back to me it, had a different radio in it as if I wouldn't notice. The fact that I used to have a CD player and now, I only have a tape player. I even recommended someone, only to have them go through a worse experience than me. No referral payment is worth me ruining my credibility with my friends. I do understand that my options are limited as my credit is bad, but that doesn't give this company the right to take advantage of me as they did. I'd rather take the bus!

I have three toddlers so I told them that I needed a reliable car and I got a 2001 mercury grand marquis. They were supposed to fix my window; I went there four times and it still didn't get fixed and now that my 15-day warranty is up, my AC is going out, breaks are squeaking, and they messed up my back door. So basically, I got screwed with a lemon. I am very disappointed and still have to pay $14,000.
Beware because they will tell you anything just to sign that contract. Now my premium went up with the Azul Insurance and I am stuck with a car that they messed up even more.

These Simple(tonS) use hidden cameras and microphones to spy on you! When their "salesman" goes to "talk to his manager", they are actually spying on in hopes to find out how much they can (over)charge you for one of their wrecks and how sky high an interest rate they can ** you for. Shame on you. Beware.

I would like to retract my previous statement. It was written under a lot of personal stress. I do understand that my actions were out of line and that phoning the store 10+ times in one day is childish. I understand how that could merit a response from law enforcement. The Simple Car Store actually has a great program and I would recommend them if they have the vehicle that fits your needs. I received my refund check in 5-10 normal business days and realized that the delay at the post office was not the Simple Car Store's fault. In the future, I will consider my actions and how they affect others before I create such drama.

On Saturday Aug.7, my spouse and I went to Simple Car Store, looking into purchasing a vehicle. We went through the "approval" process and then off to the lot to find a car. We decided on a car that had several problems: bald tires, overheating, and the front end was very wobbly. We were told to come back on Monday, and the car would be ready. Lola called on Monday and stated the car was at the tire shop, and would be ready in about an hour. I went back to the store to get the car, and the tires were replaced with more used tires, and one of them were just as bad as the others. When I brought this to their attention, they stated that they replaced three of them (excuse me but I'm sure a car has four tires). The front end was still very wobbly, and I sat there for 2 hours while they "fixed" it, just to be told it would be ready for sure, on the following day.
The next day, which was Tuesday the 10th, my spouse and I went back to Simple Car Store and test drove the car again, which was still violently shaky with bald tires. We then had Lola come along on a test drive, and during the whole ride she did nothing but complain, about how the mechanics have made them miss deal after deal with their so called "fixing" of cars, and that they said they'd fixed the problem. We got back to the store, and she reported to Raul, that the car was still "extremely shaky" they offered us a loaner car, but only if we signed for the car that was having problems.
My spouse asked Raul "why would we enter into an agreement on a car that hasn't been fixed, and asked him what if it's still not done, and we want our money back?". He looked at her stone-faced, and told her that they were doing us a favor, by giving us a loaner. As if we did something to the vehicle, and then he said, she had nothing to do with the matter at hand, but mind you, they ran her credit, and took her employer info as well. Then there was an issue with the insurance that we had paid for, and added on Monday.
They had my insurance company send proof of full coverage to a fax number where there was no fax! He said he couldn't give me a loaner, until we fixed the insurance problem, and told us to call Oasis (who he used to work for). She then asked him, why would we pay for two policies on this car? He was again rude to her, and told her she was being disrespectfu, and asked her to leave, and she did with a few choice words.
By this time we are upset and left the store to deal with the insurance the next day, as to the whole store was leaving for a "mandatory" soft ball game. I went into the store on Wednesday the 11th, and asked for my money back, and that I just wanted the deal to be off, and with a smirk, Dana says "no problem I'll get you a check". Then after 30 minutes they asked me to come back at 11:00AM. I asked him why, and that it didn't take time for me to give him my money. He asked me to leave the store, and come back, or he would call the police, which he had already done.
We stayed until the police came and they took the reports. We left and came back at 11:20 just to be told that the check wasn't ready, and that they would mail it to us. I again stated that they have done nothing but lie to us since we walked through the door. There is no info for an owner, GM, corp office or anything. They stated that they were gonna call the police again, so I decided to stick around for that as well. Once they came, they made it seem as if we threatened them, and put us on a trespasser list. We still have no refund, no car. These people are a joke and do not know customer service! I advised anyone who is in search of a vehicle not to deal with this company. It's sad that they are in the position to take advantage of people, because of different situations they may be in.

I went into Simple Car to purchase a vehicle. I found a 1999 Suburban. I test drove it and there were several issues. The check engine light was on. The signals did not work. The radiator was leaking. This was Wednesday, July 14, 2010. Dana informed me that they would take care of the problems. Needless to say, I gave them $500 cash as a down payment. I had to be at work at 11:00. Dana asked me to return on Friday to complete the paperwork and said the vehicle would be ready.
Came back Friday and he had me sign the paperwork with the exception of accepting the vehicle. He informed me that the vehicle would not be ready until Monday. He informed me that he would call me and let me know. Monday came no phone call from Dana. I called in on Tuesday and spoke with Raul. He informed me that the vehicle was ready and as they went to bring it up front and the engine froze. He told me they would credit me and I would get a rebuilt engine which should be a good thing. I was asked to give them some time as this may take a few days.
I spoke with Dana and he told me the vehicle should be ready Saturday. I called Friday just to see if the vehicle would be ready Saturday. I spoke with Raul Friday and he told me the vehicle would not be ready and he did not know how long it would take. He also said it has only been a week like it was no big deal.
He said they have other vehicles they are trying to get ready and that they were doing the best they could. He said he would call me back Friday to give me a definite day when it would be ready. Saturday came and Raul called and apologized for not getting back to me Friday. He informed me that the vehicle would not be ready until Thursday.
I said just let me come today and get my money back today and forget about the deal. Raul says they are not able to give out cash even though I gave them cash and that the people who write the checks are not in and that I would have to wait until Monday. I am calling the District attorney and 12 on your side Monday.

I purchased a car Friday, the 9th. Prior the purchase, I test drove the car on Thursday, the 8th, and advised the sales lady that the sun roof did not close. I also advised that the car was dirty and no gas in it. She stated that these things would be fixed when I pick up the car the next day.
I arrived at 9 a.m. on Friday, signed papers for an hour or so. When the car was ready, it was still dirty and the roof was still not fixed. When I asked why, she apologized. I had to be at work at 11 a.m. The man whom I signed all the paper with came and said the part will be ordered. I went back the following Thursday, the 15th, and Raul said the part was not in and that he would have one of the mechanics drive to South Phoenix to pick up the part. They called me about 3 hours later and said the part would not be in until the next busy day.
Friday, the 16th, I never heard from Raul. Saturday, the 17th, he called and stated the part was in. I advised him that I would be there when I get off from work at 6 p.m. Raul said that would be just fine because they do not close until 8. I arrived at 6:30 and the same man that I signed the paperwork with said they were busy and that I would have to come back another day. I advised him that my work hours are the same as the store's and that the 14-day warranty would be up soon. He stated that I was a high risk loan and that I should not be upset over a sun roof.
I advised that I paid over $10,000 for a car with over 144,000 miles and that the only reason I did it was to rebuild my credit and that he should be ashamed to talk to a customer like that. Because of the bad economy, I lost my job last year and my car, and credit cards. These impacted my credit report. Not one time did one person say thanks for your business. I asked for my down payment back, he said this would be considered a repo. The warranty expires in 6 days. I need help.

I bought a 1994 Mercury Cougar. I knew that there would be something on the care that had to be fixed. Well, I never even got to drive it for a full 24 hours. They never ran through the emissions! After calling 12 on your side, and the District Attorney's office, they finally canceled the loan, and gave me my money back. Buyers beware! Know your rights! I lost a job interview. I wasted 3 days in their office. It was always 20 minutes here, and almost ready! The car still didn't run right. I bought the car for work.

I went into the Simple Car Store with everything prepared to find a vehicle. I had everything lined up and was easily 'approved' for a car. I looked through the vehicles and found one that I liked and took it for a test drive. There were a couple of items wrong that I pointed out and obtained agreement that they would be fixed. I took the car home Saturday and Monday. Two days later, the car stalled, leaving me stranded on the side of the road. I called Simple Car Store and they sent a tow truck to get the car. Three hours later, the tow truck arrived and took the car into the shop.
That evening, I was told that the issue was probably the battery and that I needed to buy a new one, since I had only had the car two days. I pushed back and they agreed to look further. I made an appointment for the next day and asked if my son could bring in the car and was told yes. He went in as instructed and was told they could not do anything because we did not have an appointment. I called and the individual who made appointment was off that day so I had to call the next day.
When I finally was able to speak with her, she said I had an appointment and they should have took care of it. We finally got them to look at it and after some time, it was found that issue was being caused due to the GPS system being faulty, and the system was supposedly replaced. By this time, some other items came up; brake light blinking and constant beeping among other things, and I was told they would fix them. I dropped the car off and it was in the shop for five days. Mind you, I got this car so I could get to work.
Now, I am without a car, that I just bought, and had to fight for a loaner car to get me to work while they were waiting on parts. I was also told that while the car was in the shop, the other items on my list from purchasing the car would be fixed including the windshield. When I finally got my car back, the brake light was off and the beeping stopped. But all the other lights were still on, the ones that were supposed to be fixed when I first bought the car, and the windshield was not fixed. I tried contacting the store and could not get anyone to call me back and have submitted a few requests for service on the website but still do not have an appointment.
This is not the entire reason for my complaint. I am writing because I have gone out four times since the original 'fix' was done (about four weeks ago) and my car will not start. I have to wait for someone to come around to jump the car so I can go about my day. I was told the GPS was replaced and the battery is fine, but I continually have the same problem over and over and am not getting response from the Simple Car Store. I have also replaced hoses for the car, as well as a motor mount since I purchased the car five weeks ago. Yes, it was simple to be approved but I cannot believe they would sell a car that has as many problems as mine to anyone. I am getting the run around from the store and find myself without a car that I purchased because I need one to get to work every day.

I have recently purchased a vehicle from Simple Car Store and would like to share my experience. Approaching the lot I was greeted by Dana. He was very helpful and quick to the point. I was prepared with my paystub and valid proof of address. I was approved right away and picked the vehicle I wanted on the lot. I was hesitant about the high mileage of some vehicles but then learned they have warranties up to 24 months and 24k miles.
Over all it has been a good, reliable vehicle. An engine light came after a couple days but they took care of it right away no questions asked. Since I have referred my brother and friend, who have both purchased cars from Simple Car Store with no problem, they even took care of two of my car payments for referring them. The reason I'm writing this now is due to some research I've done on them since purchasing my car and reading the previous complaint (the poorly written, slanderous, long-winded diatribe below by Martine). The Simple Car Store has an A+ rating and I think once you go there you will see why.

I recently purchased a vehicle from the with $500 down on March 11, 2010. They wanted my fiance and I to provide them with information pertaining to our jobs, income, and residency. We provided them with everything they needed and drove the car off the lot. Since that time, they have called repeatedly with requests for additional information pertaining to our jobs. The original information they received from us was job letters, lease, and child support payments.
They continue to tell us that they are shutting off the car with the remote GPS because our employers are not getting back to them with the information we provided. They have since gone to my employers house to verify that I am working with them. I feel that with them digging so deep to come up with something that they have jeopardized my job.
My employer is very unhappy with them as well as with me because they are digging into his personal life, where he lives, and how he conducts his business. Second problem is the lack of warranty and lack of repairs they are willing to make to make the vehicle safe to use. I have heard in the past that they had vehicles blow up on their lot from trying to start them and some have even gotten off the lot and been responsible for fatalities.
I don't want to end up like that but because we are from out of state they feel that they can get over on us. The vehicle I have purchased is not currently in my possession since they have taken it back because my fiance's employer would not let them investigate his business practices. I don't blame him for that since it wasn't him buying a car. We have had nothing but problems with these people and feel that they are running a very nonlegal practice as well as going into other peoples person business without there consent. I gave them all the necessary documentation to prove that I work, get paid, and live in Arizona.
Economically, I am out $500 plus the amount of money. It will now take me to ride the bus to work. I don't have a vehicle to get what or where I need for myself and my 3 kids.
