Shelly of Jacksons Gap, AL October 24, 2009 Nissan Altima 2002, (150k miles) went in for standard oil change (same location I've used for years). Upon pick-up of the oil change told low on coolant... returned a few days later, and requested a check of the service engine light. It indicated a bad head gasket. told 2-3 days to replace. after 2 weeks received car and was told the repair shop broke the Head CAM and the entire Head had to be rebuilt. Paid $900 to repair the gasket. After receiving the car the valves rattled and the oil sensor was on, and took car back and was told i had a bad O2 sensor and rear crank seal. Paid $300 dollars for the replacements. Pick up car, then after a 2 days the valves continue to rattle and oil leaking from the engine and now the car has NO compression. Took the car back, and after 1 week, I was told the service tech installed the wrong size bolt, which caused the leak, and told everything is ok now. Drove the car for approx 1/2 mile and returned to the dealership, ask the service manager to get in, the engine light was still on, oil light on, and the car still had NO compression. 1st of Sept until 1st of Oct, dealership had car (i called multiply times, and each time was told were working on it). End of Sept, I called again and was told that the engine was destroyed due to the loss of oil and the block had been rebuilt, waited a few more days to complete. After rebuilding the block, I picked up the car on Friday Oct 2nd, drove 3 miles and the service engine light come on, and oil light also. I immediately stopped the car and called the service shop and was told again "oh sorry". I ask to bring it back and was told the shop is closed for the day bring it back on Monday Oct 5th. I called Monday and requested the dealership come check the car before driving it, and a service tech came and read the engine light code. I was told it should be ok to drive, and that the dealership service manager would call me. Monday afternoon I was told that I now had a bad cadillac converter and if I wanted to fix it i needed to pay another $800. I called the general manager requested all my money back and was told that they were sorry but they are not going to give me anything. The next day while driving the car engine completely stopped and I coasted to the side of the road and had the car towed to a local service shop, explained the history and they simply checked the oil and found chips in the oil. I called Dealership GM and explained the situation and again told it is my problem. I asked about any warranty for the Head and Block repairs (due to their mistakes), and was told no warranty! Estimates for the engine repair (from another source) is now over $3,000. I have Zero confidence in the dealership ability to repair my engine and believe they should be held responsible and I should receive my money back and/or even money back plus the engine repaired. Also: I do not believe that all these different components just all of a sudden went bad! Each component O2 sensor, cad converter, head, etc.. was all handled very poorly by the dealerships service department. other wise why so many mistakes with the broken head and poor installations? Please help. It will cost me more than the requested refund to get to fixed. Currently the engine will not run! Report Your Experience
