More about Warranties

Soyla of LUBBOCK, TX May 4, 2009

They promised to cover my car but failed to do so. I then tried to cancel my insurance due to selling my car and Corey was adament about how much I needed insurance. I told him I couldn't afford it. He pressured me to keep it and transfer it to my 1996 pickup. I told him no about 10 times. He then told me I needed to get the mileage from the people I sold it to so that he would cancel it, plus he said I needed to get my cancellation paper notarized first. I told him, I didn't know where the new buyers lived or their info. but he said I still needed the mileage or he could not cancel the insurance.

I was told if I authorized a 195 down payment, I would be automatically billed 85.75 for the next three months, then be paid up in full. So they were to take the 85.75 out of my checking account three months in a row, then be done. Well, I just received a letter from MEPCO, which is their billing company, and it says they're taking the money out for 24 months, not 3. I tried to call and cancel, but just got transferred to an answering machine! I want my money back- considering I couldn't even use this coverage for 60 days, yet already was paying 452.25 at this point!! HELP ME GET MY MONEY BACK!!

Joel of Louisville, KY, KY April 30, 2009

Purchased extended warranty for my truck from dealerfor about 2K. Toward the end of the warrenty there were transmission issues that felt like it was falling out when starting to move, and servere brake issues- not the wear and tear brake pads but master cylinder and also the water pump was going out- all at once. I paid the 150 fee on my end then the dealer said the warranty company was sending someone to inspect the truck before they would pay. ALL REPAIRS WERE DENIED and I read the small print and these items SHOULD have been covered!!! They are horrible and I never got anywhere with them or my money back. I never bought one before but thought since it was a 4x4 i may need it- I wll never buy one again- this company is a COMPLETE SCAM!!!

Nola of Bethany, OK April 18, 2009

After a long harrassing phone conversation to cancel a car warranty, I followed the procedure told to send a notarized request to cancel the auto withdrawal on my VISA card. On 2/03 Mepco Fin withdrew 85.42 which I thought was the final withdrawal as the cancelation request did not make it in time to cancal that payment. There was no withdrawal then suddenly there is an excessive withdrawl of 356.10 posted on 3/19/09 by the above named company that I did not authorize.

I changed my VISA number yet this still showed up. The name of the company us Fidelis was not familiar to me so I looked it up on the internet It is a car warrantee company out of Missouri and a class action law suit and multiple complaints are posted against them. I just noticed this on my bank statement. I will post a complaint with my bank as well in an attempt to recoup these dollars.

I am out 356.10 dolars

Crystal of Burnham, IL April 15, 2009

Purchased on 2/26/09. Changed mind, and immediately rep was told he work with me. Found myself paying for a longer period of time. Not the worst of it. Never received any contract or documentation. Went to have SUV ball bearings repaired. Had to leave SUV, for inspection. Rental @ my own expense, no reimbursement. Offered to bring SUV back for inspector to look at. USF stated I had to leave it. Now have repair bill, USF warranty bill, and rental car bill.

I have had to pay USF downpayment, 1 month insurance, as well as rental car bill, and repair of ball bearing. USF inspector could have contacted me, to let me know they would not cover repair. But I had to call, and cover rental @ my own expense, because of inspection.

Maribeth of Clover, SC April 14, 2009

My husband purchased this warrant on November of 2008, after making over 2 monthly payments of 79.17 and a down payment of 100.00 we received the policy. As an error to us we did not see the fine print where it states that you have to have the policy for 90 days or 5,000 miles. My husband explained to the customer svc that this truck does not go to far but he told my husband that after 6 months if anything goes wrong they will fix it.

On March 30, 2009, my husband called the agency and explained to the customer svc that the air conditioning on his truck is broken, she asked him for his policy number and the idometer reading, he wanted to know what the procedure were and if he could bring it to a license dealer. she stated yes. After my husband brought the truck to [dealer] for them to check it out the mechanic submitted the claim and US Fidelis refused to pay for it because he did not reach both agreements in the policy. My husband and I were outraged because the customer svc should of told him this on Monday when he called that he did not qualified and we would of not brought the vechile in McKenny.

So because of their untrained, inexperience workers this cost us 209.00. When I spoke to the manager, whom by the way was irrognant and rude insisting that there is no way his company stated this and when I asked him if he tapes all conversation he stated yes, well I told him to listen to the tape on Monday, March 30, 2009 and he will hear it, he refused, then stated that his company will look into it and he would get back to me in 24 hours.

Well, 3 days pass and the vehicle is still sitting at McKenny so I called and again spoke to a rude manager who says it was our fault that we did not read the policy and that they are not going to pay for it. This lack of training, inexperience and unduly misreprenstation cost us over 209.00 and we do not get our monies back that we have paid into this account. If agencies are not going to abide by the policy or misinformed clients then the mistake is their's not ours. Please help me with this so that others are not misrepresented by this agency.

Greenpath Debt Solutions pre and post bankruptcy filing classes are the dumbest classes I've ever taken. What a ripoff. What they teach you is information anyone who has been on their own for a few years already knows. I did not learn one thing from taking either class, and they are making big bucks with this hokey program.

This GreenPath program is just another way to rip off someone who already is doing bad financially and filing for bankruptcy. GreenPath is getting rich off these classes and they are the ultimate waste of time.

I smelled a rat as soon as I saw their ads as I have dealt with these aftermarket warranties before. I once had a policy called American Warranty. When I had a rear axle bearing fail on my Jaguar they claimed it was normal wear. Jaguar came to my aid saying the failure was not normal at such low mileage, so American had to pay.

I saw a similar scam with Fidelis and called them up. I sensed the pressure from the woman answering the phone immediately. When I asked if there was a clause that said they did not pay for normal wear she admitted there was. I asked who determined this and she said they did.

This company should be banned from doing buisness or advertising as they are clearly crooks. Thank you for exposing them.
