Towing cost - They charged me $195.00 for each car they towed, a total of almost $400. They are rip offs, they need to be shut down, it wasn't even 24 hours and they charge me that much. Nu Way is a complete rip off and they messed up the transmission to my car. They need to be shut down.

The company was called to pick up a car to be dropped off about 3 miles from the point of pickup. The driver was asked for the cost and his reply was ($5.00) five dollars per mile. They got to the place where the care is to be dropped off and the price was changed to $500 flat fee. We refused to pay and they took the car to their place.

On 02.10.2011 at 7.10 pm, I was driving on I-95 between exit 12 and 14, at which time I have a problem with overheating, and I had to stop at the roadside. After 5 minutes, ahead of me stopped tow truck. I was approached by the tow truck driver and asked by him what happened. I said that I needed a few minutes to pour the water into the cooling system, and I'll leave. The tow truck driver said that I cannot stand on the sidelines and that he should evacuate the vehicle.
I asked several times how much it would cost to drive two exits to Ives Dairy Road, but I received no reply, except that they just count the distance. Whereupon, he immediately took my keys and began to prepare the car. At 7.45 pm, we arrived at my house, but he did not gave me the car, instead he gave me his phone. So I talked with someone about the price. Someone on the phone told me that the price for this is $450. I asked to explain to me why such a price, and I received the answer: "I set prices for their services, and if you something do not like, the driver of a tow truck now will take the car to the parking lot (for an additional price)."
I started to write a check for $450, but the driver said that he would not accept my check and started to leave with the car. Then I went home for cash, paid him and only after that he gave my car keys and parked my car so it was convenient. I asked him for a receipt for the $450. But he made me a receipt for $445 and then said, "Suck my **." And he left. This company not only deceived and scared me, but it also insulted me. Also, the company has different addresses: one on the receipt, the second on a business card (2343 North West 7th avenue, Unit 3, Miami, Florida 33127, ph.3055720111), and another on the tow truck.

We were robbed on early Monday morning when thieves cut the fence surrounding our repair shop and stole tools and a company vehicle. It was fortunate that the police were able to arrest the thief on Monday afternoon and altered us at 2:30pm. We were told by the officer that we could recover the vehicle at Nu-Way Towing and Storage.
We called Nu-way Towing at 3.23pm. They stated they were at lunch and to call back in 40 minutes. We called back and after holding for 10 minutes, we were told it would cost us $143.00. We sent two employees with the cash and after they sat around and waited, we were told that they would have to provide a copy of the title and provide a letter stating that the vehicle could be release to them. We called Nu-Way Towing and offered to fax the letter and title to them and were told they could not accept a fax because we could fake a title. We tried to ask them why, a fax which is a legal form of proof accepted by all court systems in the United States would not be accepted. They then hung the phone up. The police officer who had come by, tried to call Nu-Way himself to identify the original title as a certified law enforcement officer and was put on hold indefinitely. We ended up having to send another employee over to Nu-way who we closing in 7 minutes. They close at 6:00 pm and they would charge additional fees for the release and storage of the vehicle.
This is obviously a total scam on the consuming public in an attempt to secure additional fees and being an official towing service for the Miami Police Department, it is an atrocious situation that the city would continue to use such a devious company to handle city business. It is also unconscionable, that a charge of $143.00 is allowed for local towing, when the going rate is between $50.00 - $75.00. I am requesting that your department truly investigate this situation and not bush it aside as this should not be allowed to continue. I can be reached at ** during regular business hours.
