Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I had a setup fee of $15.95 show up on my AT&T bill. I did not sign up for this service. I went to the website and cancelled. I called and requested refund. I then called AT&T and blocked them, and all third-party billings.

A charge of $12.95 appeared on my phone bill last month that I did not authorize. I called several phone numbers and talked to several people. They said they would remove the charge. This month (April), it appeared again. After several phone calls they said they would cancel the contract (one I did not authorize), but they could not reimburse the $25.00 charge from two months before. I was to give them an IP address for a certain date and time and if I could prove I did not order this they would remove the charge. I called my provider and he stated that every time I shut my modem down, there is another IP address. Well, that was no help, so now I am stuck with the $25.00 charge. The time on the IP address was 10:45 in the evening. I have never been on my computer that late at night. Something needs to be done about this company that can just bill for something not authorized.

I spoke with ILD, Gabriel and he said I had to contact Family911 to cancel the contract which I did.

I got my AT&T phone bill and found a charge of $15.95 on my bill for set up fee from familycontact911 I did not ask for or ever heard of before. Who are these people and how do they get away with this? I am contacting the state attorney general.

I just happen to notice a charge of $12.95 on our September 4, 2010 AT&T phone bill. This was for some kind of set up fee for something we did not ask to be set up in the first place. Doesn't seem like anyone is very helpful in getting this charge removed. I do believe this company needs to be investigated, I seen several complaints on your site regarding this exact same issue.

An unauthorized charge of $15.95 for a setup fee appeared on my AT&T bill on March 16, 2010 from ILD on behalf of familycontact911.com. I never authorized or activated familycontact911. Therefore, I contacted AT&T to cancel the setup fee. AT&T indicated that they can not block 3rd party charges, but I can file a complaint with the company.

I contacted ILD to cancel the setup fee. They (Richard) indicated that I need to contact Familycontact911 directly at 1-877-269-8725 to dispute the charges and that ILD is just a billing company. I contacted the phone number Richard gave me and left a message with voicemail. I will file formal complaints by the FCC and the California Public Utilities Commission regarding this matter.

An unrequested charge appeared on my phone bill and Family Contact 911 said that they could not refund without confirmation of bad IP from IP service provider. Finally, I called my phone company and they cancelled the charge.

They can only do this if you have not paid your bill, so call the phone company immediately. Putting unauthorized charges on the phone bill is called cramming and the phone company will be well aware of Family Contact 911 and LTD. The phone company is legally required to pass these charges and to pay them. If you pay the bill, they can and will happily refuse to pay if you call them before you send them money. My guess is that enough people pay the $15 or $20 to avoid the hassle to make this a very profitable operation for LTD and Family Contact 911 which are both clear scams. I lost about two or three hours.

They billed my on my AT&T bill for 15.95 for services on 2-7-10, which I did not request or receive. Now they refuse to reverse the charges which are fraudulent unless I can prove it was not my IP address. When I phoned Clearwire, they are unable to help me since they state our account has a roaming IP address.

Family Connect 911, refuses to credit our account and now states I will also owe for charges for March 2010.

I noticed an unfamiliar charged of $15.95 on March 10, 2010 bill labeled ILD Teleservices Inc. Upon calling, a Rafael said that it was subscribed by a family member which I found out was not true. I was billed two cycles and waiting for a full refund. This is obviously unlawful. How does AT&T allow this to happen? I'm appalled that such companies designed to conduct criminal act repeatedly and steal the peoples' money and the US government is not quick enough to stop them.

I received my AT&T bill on 2/18/2010 and found a charge of $17.19 ($15.95 + $1.24 tax) from FamilyContact911.com, LLC. When I called 1-800 number provided in the bill, I was told that we signed an account with FamilyContact911.com. Neither me nor my husband have ever heard about this company and never seen their website before that. Even though they canceled this account on our request, they refused to credit our AT&T account with $17.19. Instead, they gave me the date and time and the computer external IP address where they told this account was set up from. Needless to say, the time was 12:23AM when we both sleep. I've seen several internet companies trying to scam you, but it's the first time they refuse to reverse the charge. It's good that we at least noticed this right away! However, I am not sure they would not try to bill us monthly charges.

In November when I received my Verizon bill, I noticed a charge that I did not recognize; ILD teleservices for something called Family 911. I paid bill without that charge included. My December bill came and once again with this charge.

I contacted Verizon and said that I had not signed for, authorized any services, merchants, via email, internet, phone call or any other method and wanted them as my provider to take care of this. I decided to check previous Verizon bills and sure enough, I had paid for this unknown and unauthorized service on both my September and October bill.

Verizon advised me that they would put a block on my phone number but my new bill still has these charges. I have contacted Verizon and after some research, ILD as well. I cannot understand how any company claiming to be reputable would not confirm the authenticity which enables scams/frauds to be committed. I want the charges from November, December and January taken off of my phone bill account now. This situation has distressed me and I am angry each month when the bill arrives and the charges are still on my phone account.

I was billed on my AT&T phone bill $16.99 in January and now $13.79 for February and I did not request their services.

FamilyContact911 charged me $15.95 on my phone bill without my permission or knowledge. I will dispute this bill.

Just noticed I was billed for $13.79 via ILD on my AT&T phone bill. I have not authorized ILD or FamilyContact911.com to charge me for any services, nor did I sign up for this service. Am disputing this now.

But, what a scam! Any joe blow can sign up with ILD and your phone company, as well as ILD, will simply take your money without having to accept any responsibility for ensuring that they should ever have billed you in the first place! What ever happened to businesses being held accountable for what they do? Apparently, businesses no longer have to be responsible, they only have to collect your money, even if you don't owe them money!!

My AT&T phone bill has two set-up fees (10-26 & 11-26) (must be kind of hard to set up I guess!) for familycontact911.com billed through ildteleservices.com. I did not order this and do not want it. This is unauthorized and fraudulent. Charged $25.90 on my 11-28-09 AT&T phone bill.

Got a charge on my phone bill for 16.91 from Family 911 LLC by way of ILD Teleservices. I did not order or authorize any such charges. I was told it would take 3 to 4 billing cycles to get remove. Called Verizon & told them that I would pay this & not to add a late fee. ILD Teleservices could not tell me who order what ever the charge was for or give me a number to call. I think I have it take care of, but how can they do it & get away with it?

Fraud Alert:

This company billed me on my home tel bill a set up fee of 15.95 and a monthly fee of 12.95 without authorization for services.

They use a third Party Billing Service such as ILD Teleservices, Inc to bill you so They dont have to provide any contact information to anybody, not even third party or final billing entity.

I could not get any contact information since they just bill and indicate that authorization was done via internet, which never happened in my case. And since I dont have any information I cannot do A complaint with governmental regulatory agencies.

Please put out an Alert. for people to check their phone bill carefully,

Thank You.

I have no idea who these people are or how I got charged. I contacted ILD and they are issuing a refund, but that may take up to 90 days. In the meantime I am going to contact ATT and make sure they don't dock me for not paying these charges. This outfit needs to be investigated. It was $15.95 charged to my account plus $1.44 local taxes.

I looked at my Verizon phone bill and saw charges for almost $55.00 that I did not recognize. Turns out it was ILD, Nation's 1st Communication and Family 911 Contact. Was really peeved I had to call all three to get try to get the charges off. Had no trouble with ILD or Nation's 1st. They canceled service and said a credit would be issued. The Falmily 911 Contact was a whole different story. The two Indian guys I spoke to just kept reading me the script about how someone from my computer registered online. Otherwise how could they have gotten my info. They even had something that very few people know. This is scary and so infuriating.

I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told they were in a mmeting. Of course, the more they read the script the louder and more emotional I got. I told them I would report them to the FTC, The Attorney General's Office and the Better Business Bureau to no avail. They did cancel the service but said they would not give me a credit. So now from reading the other complaints, I see that I very well may have to continue to go tru this every month or so. This is so outrageous. I plan to also talk to Verizon but I am sure they won't care. I have passwords on my online account and on my call in line. This should never have happened. How can we fight back? Please let me know.

At this point I have lost at least $15.95 plus tx and maybe almost $55.00 if the credits fail. And an hour of my time on the phone and internet and several hours of emotional upset. This is totally outrageous!!

I contacted them in May and talked to a guy that said that I had signed up for their contact 911 service. I did not. They said I did this via the internet. I explained I did not do this and I not only want to cancle the service, I want a refund for the charges that we're rendered against my account which was $9.95. He said he'd have to talk to his supervisor. He came back on the line and said that everything had been taken care of and that the service had been cancled and that it would recieve a refund. Come June there were no charges. But on my July bill once again there was a charge from FAMILYCONTACT911.COM for 8.95 on my bill.

I have been charged to my knowelege $20 for services I did not desire no requested from them. I'm not sure if I have been charged more but I absolutley with out a doubt did not sign up for this service and I'm tired of dealing with them.
