Cindy of Trout Creek, MT December 17, 2008
I immediately took him to the vet and his urine was full of crystals and he had a urinary tract infection with a PH of 8.5 (PH of dog urine should be 6), Keno also had to have x-rays to make sure the high PH levels hadn't caused bladder stones to form, which can be life threatening. My vet immediately said it was food related. I had my 1 year old Border Collie that I had rescued a few months ago (Penny) tested because she started having 'accidents'....her PH was 7.5 and she also had a urinary tract infection. I decided to test a third dog, my 1 year old German Shepherd cross, Gibson, and his PH level was also high. Having 3 of my dogs test with high PH levels was enough for me to know something has definitely changed in the Kirkland food, and it wasn't just one dog suddenly having problems.
