Terrie of Cambridge, MN March 2, 2010 I am writing this on behalf of my parents. My parents have a loan for there mobil home through green tree since 2000!My mother calls me up crying everyday because green tree calls her at least 4 times a day threatening to default my parents mobil home and they call my father at work on his cell phone continuosly leaving threatening messages. My parents have made payments to green tree for 8 years now. my parents have alot of financial hardship in the last 2 years. My mom tryed talking to them and working with them but would get screamed and threatened. My mom has all the receipts that they have paid there payment up until march first. Green tree said they don't give a shit that they want money now! I'm really appalled by green tree threatening my parents and how they keep getting away with all this stuff for years. I read alot of the other consumer complaints. Why isn't anyone helping these people who are being harrassed by green tree? I could go on and on about this but I won't because everyones that has complaints tells it all. I'm asking someone to please help my parents! Please! Martin of Kerrville, TX February 28, 2010 Our mortgage loan was originally with Origen Financial, a very good company, but was sold to Green Tree. Have had nothing but trouble with them from the start. Their billing statement is very confusing to determine what your monthly payment is supposed to be. Received a threatening letter on 2/27/10 that because we had paid only 80 of the 83.72 due that they had begun to take the necessary steps required by law to gain possession of our home. Will be calling them on Monday to talk to representative. Bettyjean of Pickens, SC February 26, 2010 I did not realize Green Tree was treating other people the way they have been treating us until I googled a 1800 number that keeps calling and hanging upand found this site. I agree with everyone else something needs to be done, but what can we do? I feel like we are between a rock and a hard place. Is there legal action that can be taken against them for their actions? Our morgage was origanaly through Conseco, we said at the very begining we couldn't go higher than 350 a month It is now and has been for 7 years 400. The papers were brought to my husband who worked in a restraunt on a busy Friday night to be signed. So he couldn't pay to much attention to what he was signing. The woman at the mobil home place even signed my husband's name to one of the papers he forgot to sign, which happened to be what they were responsible for but, that came back to bite them in the butt because she didn't allow enough for a water tap so she had to pay it. Since Green Tree took over our loan from Conseco years ago our lives have turned into a nightmare! I too have to take nerve pills just to sleep! They call several times a day, one woman recently said we have good credit with them because we are never over the 30 days, I just kind of giggled because that isn't what every other person there has said! They start calling the very next day after a payment is made! They have at times kept me on the phone for over an hour at a time, arguing with me that I need to make arangements to get caught up, they try to make me agree to pay 500 every 2 weeks, for what??? We have had our morgage since 2000, and it is a 30 year morgage, God help us! Our home is a single wide and is so not worth it but it is our home just the same. When we first took out the morgage it was for 34,000 it is still at 34,000 and something 10 years later! I am not a very smart person when it comes to morgages but shouldn't it have at least came down a little instead of being a little higher? We were always on time for the first few years until they raised our payments. They are always insisting on post dating payments a few months a head, I have done it off and on in the past just to keep them from harrassing us, but now I tell them no not in this economy and all of the uncertainty. My husband works, I am a stay at home mom, and also take care of my mom who was diagnosed this past year with stage 4 lymphoma. Which makes my mind like mush with remembering things because of all the stress, a man from Green Tree called in Nov. and insisted that I make a post dated payment for Dec, I was trying to get off the phone and get my mom to a chemo appointment, so I did it. I forgot to write it down and in Dec. I called in to make the payment so they ended up getting 2 payments which caused my bank account to bounce a week before Christmas. Believe it or not they still called for more money, that day before I even went to the bank to put a stop payment on the extra payment, and pay all of the bank fees. They had more money than they were due and still wanted more! They have me to the point when me phone rings I start to shake inside and panic about answering it! On one call the woman wouldn't let me off the phone, she had me hysterically in tears telling me that if I didn't agree to pay 500 every 2 weeks she was going to put our house in forclosure! I begged her to let me talk to my husband and I would call right back, she said no that if I hang up it is a done deal, she told me we would never be able to get another home not even rent one and my kids would be homeless, she asked why wasn't I working, I explained I am a stay at home mom and I take care of my Mom. She told me that I was to put my kids on the bus and in daycare, put my Mom in a nursing home and get my lazy a** out and get a job, these were her exact words! It got so bad I asked to speak to her supervisor and she told me no I couldn't talk to anyone else but her she was God in control of my life until I agreed to her terms, I ended up freaking out, couldn't breath, chest pains, and hung up feeling like I was the scum of the earth! when I tell other people there about that conversation I am told to get over it and get on with the payments! CASSALEE of MIRAMAR , FL February 26, 2010 RE: GREEN TREE SERVICING. I am contacting you based upon being utterly abused, victimized and harassed for funds that were stolen from me for my November 2009 mortgage payment by Green Tree Servicing. In November 2009 I made a mortgage payment to National City Mortgage copy with check# 1196 for 1168.22. Because of the National City's company restructure, they changed their name to PNC mortgage and moved some of their mortgage loans (including mine) to Green Tree Servicing. It appears that my account was fully transferred to Green Tree Servicing during November 2009. To my dismay Green Tree did not receive my November 2009 payment. Thus the abuse, victimization and harassment started. I made numerous contacts to Green Tree and National City (AKA PNC) regarding my November payment. When I contacted Green Tree Servicing ON ALL OCCASIONS THEY TOLD ME THEY COULD NEVER LOCATE MY FUNDS AND COULD NEVER CONTACT PNC REGARDING MY FUNDS. Every time I contacted PNC, PNC stated they incorrectly transferred the funds to Green Tree by putting a different account number as my account number. PNC STATED THEY E-MAILED GREEN TREE TO CLEAR UP THE MATTER. PNC also stated that they were willing to provide Green Tree with anything they needed if they were contacted by Green Tree and notified me that Green Tree can contact them at anytime regarding the transfer. Green Tree kept harassing me about the funds and NEVER MADE ANY CONTACT WITH PONC. I CONTACTED PNC AND PNC FORWARDED THEM A LETTER IN JANUARY OF EARLY FEBRUARY 2010 AND GREEN TREE STILL CANNOT FIND OR STOLE MY MONEY. To date, 2/25/2010, the funds for check# 1196 was not returned to my bank. Customers should not have to go through this. It is the banks/financial institutions responsibility to contact each other to resolve issues without the client even getting involved and even knowing there was a problem in the first place. It is appalling to me that Green Tree can transfer loans to their institution and do not want to contact the institution they received the loan from regarding funds. I have been severely traumatized, victimized, harassed and abused due to this incident. I NEED THIS INCIDENT TO BE RESOLVED IMMEDIATELY AND PROPER LAWS/LEGISLATION IN PLACE FOR THIS NOT TO HAPPEN TO CONSUMERS. Thank you very much for your assistance. Sincerely, Cassalee Eccles 6816 SW 38th Street Miramar, FL 786 259 7811 Margaret of Huntsville, TX February 25, 2010 I have had harassing phone calls, talking about foreclosure, why are you behind, what the problem that you are behind. They know that I am on disability and have been there every since 2003, told them when I get my check, and they continue to call everyday. Differnt ones take turn calling you, or they put this machine and it says, will you hold for an important message, over and over, so you just hang up. Then they will start calling all over again. My insurance ran out doing the time of Ike, so greentree decided to get insurance for me, and they want me to pay it. I told them that I will get my own insurance and the insurance will call them and give them the information. that I have down. I went yesterday Feb. 24, 2010 to send them a payment and found out that my account number was invalid, what is going on, so I call the 800 number, guess who's on the consumer line, Ryan or Brian, what are you answer this number for, I need to talk with someone about my account, he says, I don't know, why its saying invalid, can you go to western union and send me the payment, I had gone to money gram, and the acct. number came up invalid, so I ask him what was my account, he read it off to me, but money gram says, its invalid. So I need to find out, just what is going on with this mobile home, that i have lived in for 13 years, somebody needs to investigate and stop these peoples from upsetting and cause others to have health problems, if there is justice in this world, it needs to show up now, I have invested too much money in this matter, please help all of us. I know that we all are going through recession and that's tough on a lot of people, especially those on fixed income, and we need help too, can't work, so what do you do, when this company knows this, why harassing phone calls everyday, by different ones, this is not fair. Thank You! Marjorie of Parker, AZ February 24, 2010 I have been a Green Tree customer for 10 years, even when they were Conseco. I have never been late once. Then, I had to go on disability because of my health. I made an attempt to work with Green Tree thinking they would be willing to work with a "valued" customer. I was told not to worry, I am up to date with payments and call back when I miss a payment-then they would be able to help. Well, that month came and went. I called back and was met with hostility. I was told to make the payment or else they would contact their attorney and serve me with papers. Then, I was thinking I could at least qualify for a Loan Modification. But, I was told that I did not qualify because I live in a mobile home. You can not call them and work with them, because they will not work with you. They just want to get you on the phone to riddle you with verbal abuse. I keep telling them I do not have the money to pay their mortgage, and after a few months past and countless harrassing phone calls later, my daughter put me in touch with attorneys who promised to lower my mortgage and advised me I was a victim of predatory lending. Yet after months of negotiations, they gave up. Green Tree wouldn't work with them either. So, I am now five months behind. I have received calls in the middle of the night from Green Tree and asked "How do you like it?" Green Tree should be put out of business. I would also like to add that I purchased my home 10 years ago at the price of 39,800 dollars. And, after 10 years my balance is still at 37,600! I have paid over 30,000 dollars in interest alone! I am on the verge of losing my house and I am 63 years old. I am physically disabled with high blood pressure and diabetes. I cannot sleep at night, I break down and cry. They have caused my blood pressure to go off the charts, I think they will be the death of me! I laugh at their slogan GREENTREE: RELATIONSHIPS THAT WORK. Work for who? Work for them, that's who! OR ELSE! Green Tree are nothing but DEVIANT CRIMINALS, AND THEY KNOW IT AND ARE PROUD OF IT! We need to ban together and bring them down! joyce of springdale, WA February 23, 2010 We have a mortgage through greentree and we have made payments for 19 years and have one year left to pay. all was fine until I filed bankruptcy for medical bills. Before the bankrupcty was ended, we were sent an intent to foreclose for HALF of a house payment. they went to court with the bankruptcy attorney, I was not told when the court date was and not invited to attend, I was stuck with the court costs, they were added to the loan. I sent 2 letters requesting what the costs were for and was finally sent a letter that only stated court costs. i am now caught up totally on my payments. the payment is due the 15th. last month on the 16th, they called my house 8 times. they insisted they will keep calling and harassing us until they get a payment agreement. i have always made the payment on the 25th, for 19 years, and i am going to continue making my payment on payday, the 25th. I asked to have the pay date changed, and they said they can't do that. i can't get through on the phone, all customer service reps are busy, i can use the automated, but cannot pay the mortgage until the 25th. my mortgage started out with washington mutual, we were told it would not be sold, but it was. I pity anyone who gets greentree for a mortgage company. Jeannette of Reno, NV February 22, 2010 Our loan (was originally through National City in 2007) was sold or transferred to this company in 2009 at some time. We own a small business and in 2009 began the process to remodify the loan (with NC) and also submitted hardship paperwork. The year was terrible financially. When my husband contacted this company and spoke to Joaquin he was told we couldn't qualify for anything, that we should have spent money we paid for a an accountant on our mortgage, etc. He was demoralizing and indecent, moreover unprofessional! I contacted him myself in January 2010, Joaquin harangued me for not making payments, wanted me to send 2,000 right away (not sure why) and really offered no assistance to me other than to verbally abuse me for 15 minutes. (that our house was in foreclosure in two weeks, that we have been living for free, how could we not send any money) After some time of me explaining that at one time we had stellar credit, that I had managed to land a job and am currently supporting the family on 50k annually, that my husband is looking for a job and also hoping that the business picks up this year, he offered me the chance at one of his products. Each time we call and try to speak to someone else we can't. This company has caused two professional outgoing people to be unable to communicate effectively. I have resorted to sending emails, increased my antianxiety medication and prayed that our loan would sent to yet another company. The house has gone from 411k to 280k, we want to keep this home for us and our children. We are not BAD! Please help us with this terrible "company". Understand, we know we have not paid but their tactics are brutal. Constant calls and they want money, what's money going to do at this point? I'm confused and scared. Marcia of Las Vegas, NV February 18, 2010 Seven years ago, my husband was dying of cancer. We were contacted by Green tree, as many in our mobile home park were, to refinance our home for a lower payment. I thought that it was a great time because we were struggled financially as well as emotionally at the time. They just kept saying we would be paying less. They had me signing forms and sending them over the fax machine. We went from paying about 600 a month to paying almost 900 per month. My latest bill being nearly 1000. I live on social security, and don't have that kind of money. I believe I owe more now than when we originally bought the home. I was looking at my January stmt, and I paid 1596 in interest in December 2009 and only 143 in principal amount. There's got to be something wrong with that. I feel I've been taken advantage of, and don't know what to do. I've had to stop paying because I just don't have the money. With my husband gone, the life insurance has run out, and I'm struggling to live. I just can't pay this bloated bill any longer. maybe my story will help someone out there. Shelly of Stanton, TX February 14, 2010 I took over payments on a mobile home financed by greentree. The original lender had been a customer for 10 yrs. The lender and I worked with GreenTree prior to our contract with each other to make sure we were in compliance with Greentree. Once the paper work was completed I began being charged insurance by the company even though I had purchased insurance on the mobile home myself. I personally sent them by mail and fax multiple copies of my insurance. My insurance agent faxed and mailed the insurance contract to GreenTree many times as well before it was recongnized by Greentree. During this time I had harassing phone calls 4 plus times a day at my job. I asked them not to call me at work. My supervisor had asked them not to contact me at work. They continued to harass me on a daily basis. Several months went by and then I started getting letters that I was not in compliance with the insurance because Greentree was not on there as a lien holder. Once again I go through my insurance company to make sure that request was taken care of. I still had insurance charges on my bill that greentree would not remove even though I was already paying for insurance. A few months later again I get letters stating that I am not in complaince with the insurance requirements. The original lender has to be on the policy. I contacted the insurance agent who in turn contacted the original lender and obtained the information necessary to put them on the policy. A few short days after that I got served by Greentree saying they were going to foreclose on the loan due to 3 late payments. The notices had been sent to an incorrect address about 6 months ago. I was behind but got caught up and even recieved bills showing past due balance had been paid. I am needing help desperately. Greentree is impossible to work with. Since I am not the original lender I have a hard time obtaining information from them and now I find that I have an old account number and need to use the new one when contacting them but have never been given this number. I have 20 days from today before my children and I will be homeless. As of today I am only 30 days behind on payment. Part of the reason for that is because I was charged insurance when I already had it and all the monthly payments I made was short the insurance amount. Which in return has made me late and past due.
