First Franklin Loan

Alan of Akron, OH March 15, 2010

Purchased a new home in 2006. In 2007 found out that property taxes and insurance were not included in the monthly payment. In 2008, lost job, got behind on payments and came to an agreement to let them deduct 3 equal payments of 1800 from my savings on the 1st of the month to correct the arreage. First month, payment was deducted as agreed. Second month, no payment was deducted.

Contacted First Franklin to find out why payment was not taken out and was told there was no record of any kind of agreement and loan was in the beginning proceedings of foreclosure. Tried to work out a repayment plan and was not approved due to unknown reasons. During course of foreclosure, discovered that original appraisal was inflated by 35,000.

James of Bloomington, IN June 28, 2009

After four years my mortgage co. has decided to escrow my tax payments. There are no taxes owed as they have been paid. They raised my payment 58.70 a month for 230.00 taxes for the full year, an excessive amount. Have been in contact with them several times about this but they just want the money. They are not paying any taxes i am. I guess they must be broke and trying to get extra money from their customers.

richard of grand junction, CO May 16, 2009

I am involved in a potential foreclosure of my home in Grand Junction. I have been diagnosed with cancer and am unable to work. I have had the house on market for some time and have a contract offered a few days ago. To make this work we needed the mortgage company, Franklin First to waive a prepayment penalty of 6 months which is up Aug 6. Other than that the company would have gotten the full amount owed of about 198,000.00 We felt this would have been a win-win, we would have avoided foreclosure came out with about 10,000.00 to be able to move into a less expensive situation and paid the company our debt. We have been working with Heiden Realty in Grand Junction. Bob Colony is our agent. Heiden is shocked that they refuse to waive this, given the situation.

My cancer has left me unable to work, I live with my girlfriend whom is not on the loan debt. We have explained over and over that by this refusal leaves us no option but to foreclose, stay in the house probably 9-12 months and them be removed. What possible advantage is that to the company or us? We hear that the mortgage companies have received money to help. This certainly qualifies for help I would think.

Tim of Torrance CA (11/24/07)
I refinanced my home with First Franklin Mortgage about 5 months ago, and every month on the 1st they start calling me at 8:00 AM and ask me when I will be making the payment. I tell them I will make the payment on the 15th like I have done since the inception of the new loan with them, and they tell me it will be late. (I explain to them that I have until the 16th of the month; after that it is late). They tell me I need to pay today so I tell them I will pay when I pay just like every month. I tell them not to call me because I make my payments on time every month and have ever since I purchased my first home over 15 years ago. I explain to them that I work the 3rd shift and just went to sleep--to quit harassing me.

They sometimes call about 2 hrs. later again to wake me up and tell me the same stuff again; they do this repeatedly every day till about the 13th of the month. In november I told them that what they are doing is considerd harassment and they would be dealt with appropriately. They threatend that they will take my house from me.

Kyle of Deltona FL (03/08/07)

One of the checks was to pay off my wife's school loan. When we received the check, it was made out to the wrong company. It was a very large sum of money. I left several messages with the Gentleman who had helped us refinance, but he didn't have the decency to return my call. I finally spoke to a supervisor who said that she couldn't re-issue a check, that we would have to contact the lady who came to the house representing the title company.

Harold of Aurora, CO April 18, 2006

Needed to refinance but owed more on my home than it was worth and discovered the appraisal done in 2002 was inflated by 20,000 and contains false information. I got ill and got behind and it has been a nightmare they are going to take my home.

Steven of Rock Hill, SC March 12, 2005

Jan 27th I sent my mortgage payment which was for Feb 2005 in the amount of 400.00. The check was deposited and cleared Feb 7th 2005. Feb 9th started receiving calls from their collections department I reported the check was sent and deposited and faxed a copy of the check to them at 724-957-9032 after sending fax I called back spoke to Eric he reported they received and he would check on the problem. On around Feb 11th I called again spoke to John in customer service he assured me he would check on the problem and get back to me quickly.

First Franklin has a web site where I can check on my account activity also send emails for questions and concerns I sent 2 emails one on the 9th of Feb the other on the 11th requesting an investigation. All this communication I have done and the promises from First Franklin they will get back to me they never did. On March 9th 2005 I received a letter from First Franklin collections department informing me I should contact HUD for consultation and that my mortgage is now past due 2 months and this letter is an attempt to collect a debt but had now miranda rights front or back. The amount past due totaling 752.86 for Feb + March 2005. On March 10th I again called the collections department and requested to speak to a supervisor I spoke to Mr. Gary Martin I informed him March 2005 mortgage payment was sent and deposited on Feb 7th,2005 in the amount of 400.00. The result was the same as the above would get back to me but as of this date has not!
