Allen School

Queens, NY

Sondia of Flushing, NY April 9, 2009

I was enrolled in this vocational school in 6/2007 and completed 6 months medical assistant classroom training and they told me at the beginning that financial aid would support my tuition and fees, until in the middle of the program semesters they said financial aid is not supporting me and i have to pay out my pocket to continue rest of the program. i payed anyhow, my mom supported me from all her weekly salary just so i could complete my education. they charged me 300 weekly and i had no job myself and couldnt pay.

we are a low income family. all our bills from all the pay we get, like my mom gets paid 300 weekly and that money went to school for myself and nothing was left for her. they ripped us off. finally we couldnt pay all the 300 weekly, and dropped me from the program just for the inability to pay. this is discrimination. although i can pay now for some portion of the charges, they wont accept me back in the program just because i was broke. it is discrimination if someone cant pay, as said by patients rights in the healthcare field, but this school has healthcare programs and should have same set of laws regarding discrimination whether it is for students or patients. my point is that if there is no discrimination on the basis of the unability to pay for patients paying for healthcare costs then why should there be discrimination on students who cant pay for their education? does that mean due to their failure to pay means they should be dropped from the program. although i can pay now and why cant i be reinstated or placed back into the program?

they took all our money and not refunding back to us and dropped me from the program. wont accept me back even though i can pay for it now.

I sign up for this school for medical assistant to find uot that the school is not accredited and also was cheated out of money cancelled the school and they are still submitting my paper work to direct loan as if i am still attending when i call to speak to the financial aid officer they give me the run around they hang up on me or say that shse is not in I cancelled on 8/28 and up until now direct loan still does not have any cancellation at least a dozen of us have complaints about this school that we are aware of but it's just too much to put into words I tried contacting fox five news and as of yet know one has contacted us-I know there is other important things going on in this world, but alot of student are getting ripped off by this school because they have know one to complain too alot of students just dropped out because they couldn't deal with the situation but what good is this going to do when they still have a loan to pay back
