Afni Complaints

Fred of BARSTOW, CA January 28, 2010

Reports false or improper dates on reports given to the credit bureaus reports open accounts as deliequent accounts to credit reporting agencies.

Kaye of Tucson, AZ January 27, 2010

I recieved a bill from AFNI this past week(1-26-10), They state I owe Q-West 617.68. I have a current Q-West account, therefore I contacted Q-West an the only account I have with them is my current account. The customer service rep. made an exhaustive search and couldn't find anything I owed other than my current account. AFNI seems to have a passion for trying to collect cellphone or other telephone bills that people do not owe. I feel an investigation at the federal level is appropriate.

richard of bronx, NY November 28, 2009

Discovered a 40 collection record on my credit report in Nov, 2009. called the company & learns that I owe verizon from Oct. 2006 which i don't know anything about. Never being late once on all of my bills plus I'm paying bills of over 10,000 each month. Please help stop this co. My credit report jeopardized!

sharon of chippewa falls, WI November 24, 2009

I contacted the company to attempt to pay a bill do to a car accident.I asked them to prove who they were, as it could be a scam. They refused to prove who they were, or send me any additional info on our car accident. Then they proceeded to ask me to lie to my state DMV,by attempting to get me to agree to a billing amount i could not pay. I asked them if we could get a lower amount that i could afford or if I needed to get a judge to approve that .He than proceeded to get a manager. Who also asked me to lie to the state. When i told her I would like to receive a statement she stated "That is for our records only we do not need to show you that.No no we don't need to send you that." I was appalled that any company would allow that type of behavior from their employees.

Michael of Houston, TX November 24, 2009

AFNI or AFNI Bloom or AFNI inc or however many ways they choose to disguise themselves, says I owe money from an old cingular cell phone right after they became AT&T. I called them and explained to them that I have been in good standing and had even just completed a contract with AT&T but they claim are no help...AFNI also mixes up account numbers to where you have no idea which is which. They are clearly out of control and should be fined!I hope a class action lawsuit is in the works.

Lestine of Damascus, MD November 19, 2009

Kristine of Benton Harbor, MI November 3, 2009

Luis of Hammonton, NJ October 26, 2009

Deborah of Atlanta, GA August 31, 2009

I received a "Discounted Payment Offer' from this 'collections Agency' for a bill supposedly owed to Verizon. I have never missed a payment to Verizon, nor have I ever been late on a payment !! I verified this with Verizon (with whom I am a 'VIP' customer! I am a Federal Investigator and found this to be very suspect.

I AM DEBT FREE and have a very high credit rating. I went on-line and found that there are 2,680 entries on complaints about fraudulent billing related to Verizon from this same company! PLEASE INVESTIGATE!

Lonnie of Easley, SC August 27, 2009

On August 25, 2009 a collection notice was addressed to Lonnie M. I opened the letter, to find it was a collection notice from Afni for Verizon Wireless original account number - in the amount due of 444.29. I called 1-888- twice, the first person indicated that the birthdate was 12-9-58, which is Lonnie J, not Lonnie M as indicated on the collection notice. After a heated conversation that got no-where, the first person hung up.

A second call was placed and Jim indicated that SC state law prohibated them to talk to Lonnie J, that they needed to talk to Lonnie M. Lonnie J has a business phone with Verizon Wireless, that is in SL Masonary. This account does not belong to Lonnie J. Apparently, Afni has obtained the incorrect SS number, the Birthday to attached to Lonnie M. for the 444.29 debt due. THis is clearly a violation of the Fair Trade Act for privacy. Lonnie J does not have a bad debt. Due to the incorrect information, the 3 major credit reports could have this against Lonnie J in error.
