Jean of San Dimas, CA September 21, 2009 Spent alot of money for nothing!I did not receive one decent individual for a date. I was promised professional individuals that met my criteria. Supposedly they checked everyone out. They never even came close to what I had asked for in my file. They sent me all individuals that did not ever meet my age requirement. They even put on a little show for me when I went to sign up. She said she had to take a call from one her clients. She came back in the office and said "Oh, my client just told me that she just go engaged." They were very manipulative sales people. I was also told they had a special person in mind for me. All lies!!! They would do anything to have another sucker sign up. I know I can't get my money back but want others to know: Stay Away From Two Of Us! Big Scam! Kathleen of Irvine, CA June 17, 2009 Lot of Money for NOTHING!!! Not even a decent date was given. They promised professional individuals looking for a good woman. They said these men were ready for a serious commitment. THERE WERE NONE and those they did have were not professionals. Telling me all they had to offer as matured men that were established. I thought the woman who signed me up at the Irvine office would be trustworthy and honest because she was from the same parish church in Irvine. All lies and misleading promises. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DON'T GET SUCKERED IN THESE EMPTY PROMISES. I'm out 3,000 TWO Marguerite of Ojai, CA May 16, 2009 Be careful! The people I dealt with are EXTREMELY talented manipulative sales people. I tried to research the company before using service but the name online (maturesingles) was different than service name of TWO OF US. I tried to find out a price before driving over an hour to their office, but they would not give one. The first thing they did was to take my credit cards & drivers license, & ask about credit limit. The first price they told me was 30,000!! When I appeared shocked & ready to leave, they kept offering me "deals" & special prices until the price was down to 3885 as long as I signed up today! I was told they had a perfect match for me who had written a check for 35,000 for the service & wouldn't it be nice to go on vacation with him as he would pay my way. I had been questioned about a past relationship & told Monick that I had left because I wanted a financially equal partner. She showed me a foto, even though their policy is not to show foto. Monick supposedly called "Mike" to tell him about me in my presence and then continued to pressure me even though I was obviously uncomfortable & unable to afford that amount of money. The possibility of finding a partner completely overrode my common sense and gut feeling. I let them charge my credit card & then signed a contract but was repeatedly distracted every time I tried to read what I was signing. I was told there were no cancellations & that Mike would be calling me. Upon returning home, I not only found many complaints about Two of Us online, but I also read the contract & noted I could cancel within 3 business days by delivering a letter or telegram, which I did. But then I got message from Monick that she had given 2 men my number & that they would be calling me. I told Monick that I had already sent a certified letter asking to cancel membership & she said, "What are you going to tell John when he calls?" & that she didn't know I had cancelled. John did call me and was EXTREMELY sweet sounding and pleasant to talk to & said he would call me the next night, which he never did. I was then told I would have to drive back to their office to process the refund on my credit card, which I did the following Saturday. I was immediately asked to sign a contract that stated that if I went on a date with John, I would have to pay the full 3885 to the company! (forgot to mention I was told to NEVER tell anyone how much I had paid!) I refused to sign & demanded my money back. after many accusations from Monick about how I was trying to use the service without paying, my credit card was refunded & "John" was called in my presence to say I was in the office cancelling my membership & neither of us was allowed to contact the other. Upon returning home there were lenghty messages both on my cell & home phone from "John"(although I had asked Monick to only give out my cell #) when I returned from meeting saying how he was sorry he hadn't called & really wanted to meet me. I texted him to say sorry I would have loved to meet him but couldn't handle it financially. Five minutes later I got a FWD text from Monick saying he told her I texted him & would love to meet me if I rejoined. I suffered emotional anguish at being manipulated where I was obviously quite vulnerable and while I can't find anything Two of US did legally wrong, I just want to warn others who might be vulnerable. I was also hesitant to write this complaint as I was afraid of some legal action against me for texting "John" after receiving a refund.
