PerfectMatch.com

Michael of Aurora, CO October 15, 2009

I have been on the site for over a month and not only has no one, not a soul, looked at my profile but every attempt I have made to reach a woman on the site has met with silence. I contacted the company to cancel and get my money back and this was the response:

"Thank you for contacting us as we are here to address any questions or concerns. Have you used our advanced member search capabilities yet? Please keep in mind that when utilizing the 'CUSTOM SEARCH' tool, you will be able to search for members by more specific factors, such as interests, education, background/values and lifestyle traits - at ranges as close as within 25 miles of your zip code. Unfortunately, we cannot definitively say why members may choose not to respond. Members utilize their PerfectMatch accounts in a variety of ways - and some may only 'check in' once a week. Others might be busy with work, on vacation, pursuing another relationship on PerfectMatch - or are taking a break. Additionally, Basic (free) members are unable to reply once they have used their 'three free replies'. Unfortunately, although I would be more then happy to cancel your account which would prevent rebilling at the end of your current billing cycle, in accordance with our Terms of Use, accepted by you as part of the enrollment process, canceling your membership early would not result in a refund as it is not supported by a refund policy. Best regards, David Johns Member Services Specialist MS@Perfectmatch.com"

That was the best they could come up with. So much for the guarantee.

I wrote a complaint earlier so this is a follow up. Almost immediately after posting my complaint the company stopped sending me any "matches". There was no refund nor correspondence. This week I received a couple of more "matches" out of the blue after months of nothing on a one-year agreement.

I hope the company is being investigated because there is obviously a huge amount of money involved with the number of people taken in with the 99 fee. This company does not deliver and has no credible customer accountability. I am out 99 and my guess is nationwide this is a fraud in the millions of dollars.

Joy of San Jose, CA August 21, 2009

Fake photos are posted by a match by the name " Keiko ". The photos belong to a Japanese actress, K. Kitagawa. Age is same but the school and area listed in profile are different from those of real K. Kitagawa , thus the match is not real K. Kitagawa but a fake. The first thing you will see are EXACTLY same photos.

People are wondering whether Perfectmatch.com is the one who listed this fake match to balloon # of their listed matches. Perfectmatch.com did not deliver this match to a subscriber even though the fake K.'s personality matches perfectly with his. He found the match by compatibility search. He got very excited and anticipated to communicate with the match and sent an email to her. Never received any reply. After finding out the match was a fake. He was devastated and very embarrassed.

I joined, only to find that the people from my area had not belonged for at least 2 years. I live in a very small town and the people that they send me I had worked with for up to 25years. It was too funny. When I objected they laughted. They are like Match.com no one is out there. It's a fraud, a scam. No possiblility of getting a date with anyone--they don't belong.

Joan of Olympia, WA July 20, 2009

I believe this service is a fraud. They take an up front payment, say they have millions of members and don't deliver anything. There is no way to hold them accountable, verify they have an active data base or have any real ability to find matches. They refuse to refund based on a policy that again does not hold them accountable. I would like full refund of my 99 and an investigation as to their promises.

Meg of Seattle, WA June 20, 2009

The following letter was sent to PerfectMatch.com "contact us' and to their Corp Hdquarters" on May 19, 2009 Because I obviously meant business, my letter yielded a phone call and ultimately a full refund. I fear thousands are bilked of their subscription fees every day.

Dear Perfect Match:

I have captured all the records of my communication with Perfectmatch including my request for a profile review, and David's lame reply.

I have captured all the web pages with all records of my attempts to make contact with your "subscribers" and the response from one "non-Subscriber" who was taking advantage of a "free weekend".

I have also captured of all the pages of my Profile.

In nearly 3 months of being a member I have not one received a single communication initiated from one of your "subscribers."

I have sent 19 icebreakers, received 3 responses and was declined by 4. Twelve went unanswered.

I requested my money back after 2 months of subscribing because I felt I got both no service when I asked for a Profile review and I was having no luck with your site. You refused to refund my money.

Because I was conerned that my efforts were falling on deaf ears, both yours and your "subscribers," between May 8 and May 9 I sent emails to 30 "subscribers" and after 10 days I have received replies from 2: from "Brian" and from "justlookinagain." 28 have gone unanswered.

I believe you display a huge percentage of unsubscribed profiles, people who are not allowed to reply unless they pay up.

I am asking again for a FULL REFUND. I just want my money back.

Please do not refer me to your contract. I am not interested in your refund policy. If I have not received a full refund within 10 days, I will be contacting "Jesse" to investigate. If you do not know who Jesse is, he is a consumer advocate with KING-5 News.

There have been many complaints with regard to Perfectmatch.com, an online dating website service. One of our family's closest and dearest friends who is widowed, now five years, came to our city for a “fresh start and while visiting, made the concerted effort to re-acquaint himself with dating and did so by subscribing to Perfectmatch.com for a 3 month subscription in 2009.

Sadly, it was not discovered until after subscribing to the website that Perfectmatch.com solicits subscribers by falsely advertising membership status, circulation and endorsements. Once subscribed, a member can contact the Help Desk of the website and again is mislead, informing whomever inquires that all subscribers are in fact current members. Perfectmatch continues to misrepresent themselves by falsely advertising they have over 11 million subscribed members and are second to Match.com. Perfectmatch.com has its own built-in self-endorsed website, given the name of MarketRange that presents itself as an outside marketing firm, not affiliated with Perfectmatch.com. MarketRange of course endorses itself with stating several national news media publications, magazines, online forums, public relations web services, several men's & women's organizations, national radio talk shows and TV talk show hosts, naming celebrities such as Oprah and Dr. Phil endorse Perfectmatch.com. Researching each article and the dates given, there is no evidence that any of the endorsements exist and none of them ever endorsed “Perfectmatch.com. The website has an extraordinarily marginal inventory of members, counting the obsolete profiles and conjured profiles known as fillers and is incapable of matches within a community as promised. In our case, we are the second largest city in California and Perfectmatch.com was unable to come up with a matching zip code. When writing the city name, the closest match was 150 miles from our zip code and then the factor of having to sort thru who is actually a subscribing member was another ordeal. The website features Dr. Pepper Schwartz, who gives advice to poor unsuspecting members, believing there is reasonable cause for her verbiage when in fact, book authors listed having PhD credentials and post graduate schools attended are verifiable. In our research, we were unable to verify any education beyond obtaining a GED that warrants the title of "Dr. Schwartz."

Donald of St. Hubert QC (03/27/09)
PLEASE HELP ME : I am a retired police officer (injured on duty and I have hearing deficiency, memory deficiency , post traumatic stress disorder and I used Perfect Match because it was supported by Dr Phil, Dr. Swartz, and Ophra. I have been insulted, ignored, abused, falsely accused of harassment, being a spam, and on top of that they are playing the victim and because I live far away they try to intimidate me by attempting to turn the situation around to make appear I am a criminal and I am not. please I have all what is needed to seriously face them in the most upfront and professional manner. they have the ace in their pocket because I am on a permanent disability pension and live in Canada.

Would you mind me to request your neighborly professional help to deal with this matter in a dignified respectful manner ? Please I complained about an error I wanted to deal with, one on my part and a big one on theirs, and to correct it as an urgent matter. I was not able to get any help. I was rejected without any reason and when I sought to correct the matter I was accused of being a spam, accused of harassment, and he cried wolf saying they were frightened of me, ( this is so ridiculous as I always maintained I wanted to be open to resolve in a professional ethical manner)

I was forefront and always writing them with respect and in a dignified manner. When I sent an olive leaf to resolve the problems at hand in a dignified manner he sent me an email perceiving to be the victim not the offender. As a president of a company he sure acts without just cause, maturity , professional conduct, nor any code of ethics. I told him if he would not take a gentleman approach and eat his humble pie as I did when I called for assistance then i would seek legal council which I will do now.
