Craig of Falls Church, VA March 15, 2010 I gave Perfect Match a credit card in August 2009 and received matches as anticipated. This month, march 2010 I was billed on the same Credit card for I assume continued service, which I did not authorize. I have written P Match using their online form which is the only way to reach them. I am out 24.95 John of Ann Arbor, MI February 25, 2010 I had a profile on "PerfectMatch.com" for 3 years but got very few messages. Suddenly, a few weeks ago, I got a message from this beautiful woman from Panama. I am very attracted to tall, bright women. She said she was 5' 7", had a bachlor's degree and was a math teacher. Super. I was leary for paying to answer, so I emailed two of my women friends with her picture and profile. They both said to "be very careful". Then the women sent me a second request for contact, so I did join. As you all know, I had to sign a release which essentially says that "PerfectMatch" had no responsibility to deliver anything and that I could never expect a refund if they didn't deliver what a resonable person expected for their money. I signed up. The woman and I exchanged 2 or 3 contacts. In her last one, she said her english skills were not very good. I responded that I had looked up some nice software on the internet that would help her to learn engish and for me to learn spanish. Hey, I thought my offer to explore learning spanish was pretty nice. I never heard from her again. After asking for me to respond to her - which meant spending 60 for 2 months - twice and exchanging some brief notes she just disappeared. All my notes were short, nice and respectful. I just contacted Chase who is my credit card provider. They were quite helpful. They gave me a full credit and now, "PerfectMAtch" has to dispute that credit. I must add that Chase asked if I had already tried to work with "PerfectMatch" and I answered "yes", so that is an excellent first step. Then I suggest that all of you try to work with your credit card company, since I predict that you probably will get no satisfaction from "PerfectMatch". Carolyn of Baileyton, AL January 17, 2010 I have just discovered this forum for filing complaints, and have read the complaints about perfectmatch. I have had the same experiences as the rest, and i have alos concluded that it is one big scam. They "hook" you by sending you e-mails that you have a match , then once you join, there is silch, zero, nothing. they also hook you into committing to at least three months paid in advance, so you can't get a refund if you decide after a month that you don't want to continue. I have tried several of the dating sites, and they are by far the very worst! There should be an investigation into their tactics, and their lies. Graciela of Gilroy, CA December 9, 2009 I previously purchased a 4 month membership for 99 on August 8, 2009. After the 4 months elapsed on 12/8/09 I found a pending charge on my credit card for another month of membership for 29.95. I never authorized perfectmatch.com to bill my card for another month of membership. Today, on 12/8/09, I have cancelled my membership via the website and I do hope that perfectmatch will have the sense to reverse the charges, if not, I'm going to call my bank and have my bank reverse those charges because I never authorized it to begin with. As far as the 4 month membership goes, I never found a match, I think it's all a scam--they can keep the 99 but they should not be billing any additional charges without first asking for consumer authorization. Michael of Aurora, CO October 15, 2009 I have been on the site for over a month and not only has no one, not a soul, looked at my profile but every attempt I have made to reach a woman on the site has met with silence. I contacted the company to cancel and get my money back and this was the response: "Thank you for contacting us as we are here to address any questions or concerns. Have you used our advanced member search capabilities yet? Please keep in mind that when utilizing the 'CUSTOM SEARCH' tool, you will be able to search for members by more specific factors, such as interests, education, background/values and lifestyle traits - at ranges as close as within 25 miles of your zip code. Unfortunately, we cannot definitively say why members may choose not to respond. Members utilize their PerfectMatch accounts in a variety of ways - and some may only 'check in' once a week. Others might be busy with work, on vacation, pursuing another relationship on PerfectMatch - or are taking a break. Additionally, Basic (free) members are unable to reply once they have used their 'three free replies'. Unfortunately, although I would be more then happy to cancel your account which would prevent rebilling at the end of your current billing cycle, in accordance with our Terms of Use, accepted by you as part of the enrollment process, canceling your membership early would not result in a refund as it is not supported by a refund policy. Best regards, David Johns Member Services Specialist MS@Perfectmatch.com" That was the best they could come up with. So much for the guarantee. Joan of Olympia, WA September 18, 2009 I wrote a complaint earlier so this is a follow up. Almost immediately after posting my complaint the company stopped sending me any "matches". There was no refund nor correspondence. This week I received a couple of more "matches" out of the blue after months of nothing on a one-year agreement. I hope the company is being investigated because there is obviously a huge amount of money involved with the number of people taken in with the 99 fee. This company does not deliver and has no credible customer accountability. I am out 99 and my guess is nationwide this is a fraud in the millions of dollars. Joy of San Jose, CA August 21, 2009 Fake photos are posted by a match by the name " Keiko ". The photos belong to a Japanese actress, K. Kitagawa. Age is same but the school and area listed in profile are different from those of real K. Kitagawa , thus the match is not real K. Kitagawa but a fake. The first thing you will see are EXACTLY same photos. People are wondering whether Perfectmatch.com is the one who listed this fake match to balloon # of their listed matches. Perfectmatch.com did not deliver this match to a subscriber even though the fake K.'s personality matches perfectly with his. He found the match by compatibility search. He got very excited and anticipated to communicate with the match and sent an email to her. Never received any reply. After finding out the match was a fake. He was devastated and very embarrassed. Aunalee of Ridgecrest, CA July 23, 2009 I joined, only to find that the people from my area had not belonged for at least 2 years. I live in a very small town and the people that they send me I had worked with for up to 25years. It was too funny. When I objected they laughted. They are like Match.com no one is out there. It's a fraud, a scam. No possiblility of getting a date with anyone--they don't belong. Joan of Olympia, WA July 20, 2009 I believe this service is a fraud. They take an up front payment, say they have millions of members and don't deliver anything. There is no way to hold them accountable, verify they have an active data base or have any real ability to find matches. They refuse to refund based on a policy that again does not hold them accountable. I would like full refund of my 99 and an investigation as to their promises. Meg of Seattle, WA June 20, 2009 The following letter was sent to PerfectMatch.com "contact us' and to their Corp Hdquarters" on May 19, 2009 Because I obviously meant business, my letter yielded a phone call and ultimately a full refund. I fear thousands are bilked of their subscription fees every day. Dear Perfect Match: I have captured all the records of my communication with Perfectmatch including my request for a profile review, and David's lame reply. I have captured all the web pages with all records of my attempts to make contact with your "subscribers" and the response from one "non-Subscriber" who was taking advantage of a "free weekend". I have also captured of all the pages of my Profile. In nearly 3 months of being a member I have not one received a single communication initiated from one of your "subscribers." I have sent 19 icebreakers, received 3 responses and was declined by 4. Twelve went unanswered. I requested my money back after 2 months of subscribing because I felt I got both no service when I asked for a Profile review and I was having no luck with your site. You refused to refund my money. Because I was conerned that my efforts were falling on deaf ears, both yours and your "subscribers," between May 8 and May 9 I sent emails to 30 "subscribers" and after 10 days I have received replies from 2: from "Brian" and from "justlookinagain." 28 have gone unanswered. I believe you display a huge percentage of unsubscribed profiles, people who are not allowed to reply unless they pay up. I am asking again for a FULL REFUND. I just want my money back. Please do not refer me to your contract. I am not interested in your refund policy. If I have not received a full refund within 10 days, I will be contacting "Jesse" to investigate. If you do not know who Jesse is, he is a consumer advocate with KING-5 News. Report Your Experience
