Maureen of Everett, MA November 20, 2009

This is a debt collector for Credit One Bank. They are rude, unkind people. I called them last week and yesterday to make a payment . they want the whole amt. I had a death in family and I forgot a payment that month. ONE MONTH and I am being abused. The woman Kelly told me to borrow the money from a friend or relative. I said no. I told her I was getting paid in 2 days and she wouldn't hear of it.

I will pay them but the next time I am ridiculed or told to sell something or borrow from relatives I will get a lawyer. When I explained that I forgot due to a death of an immediate family member , this woman said did you forget to pay your rent too? I felt awful. they must be paid extra to be unkind. Hope they never know how bad I feel and how much worse they made it for me. I am completely devastated by their actions. I wish I could do something but I am not sure I have any recourse. They have NO business to say that. what a world we live in.

I've had their credit card for 2 years never a late fee or overlimit. Now they are constantly changing their fees. Today got notice the fee for having the card is going from 6.50 a month to 8.50 a month and the minimum due is going from 20 to 25.Also says the APR will be no lower than 23.90% and no higher than 29.90%. It even says my credit history has nothing to do with these changes. I know my credit score has gone up since I first got the card.It seems they are trying their best to milk as much out of their customers as possible before the new laws take effect.

This company repeatedly calls my cellphone all times of day and night. They will not leave a message, but if I answer, there is a recorded message to call them about a personal matter. When I called back, there is no live person to talk to. I do not have an account with this company, nor have I ever had an account with them.

I've been making Payments on time for Over a year but I moved this year informed them of this a month ahead.Somehow last month I didn't get my bil strangely I got my bill this month charging me triple my monthly payments. I called customer service the next day, they told me "they have been sending the bills to the address I gave them, If i received the bill I would have paid it and their showing on their system I owe them 54 dollars for this month but statement showing 52 in black and white "How is that?'' How if they got the right address I didn't receive the bill? Why is there A 2 difference between monthly statement and the computer system?I believe if You make a error You should at least pay for it and not deny it. I have to say Credit One Bank customer service were rude, unprofessional, very hostile in dealing with public relations a suggestion they should go counseling seems like they have issues to deal with

I have only had this account a few months. When I made my 4th payment of an amount far greater than the minimum due, I mailed the payment in as I always do. I mailed payment apprx. 5 days before due date. This has always been sufficient time for companies to receive and process my payment, including the first 3 payments I made to Credit One, however this particular payment apparently was the exception. My payment didn't post for over a week, thus causing me to incur a late payment charge of 32.

I called and inquired if there could be a one time waiver of the fee, but was advised repeatedly that they could not do that. Fast forward a few months (and a few more above minimum due, on-time payments) down the road, I failed to mail my payment in enough time to avoid a late fee, so I decided to bite the bullet and make an online payment despite their 7.95 charge for processing online payments. I had only done this one other time. I made the payment along with payments on 3 other bills (my phone bill, power bill, and a Capital One bill...Capital One doesn't charge me 7.95 to pay online, btw) on the 15th of the month.

All of the other 3 bills processed and posted to my bank account on the 16th, however the Credit One payment never showed up. I had received a confirmation number, however because I made the payments from my laptop, I didn't use the option to print the number. I took for granted that the payment would post to my account with no problems. When the payment still hadn't cleared my bank by the 19th, I went back online to check my Credit One account. The payment was not there, but they had promptly posted a 32 late fee to my account on the 18th.

I went ahead and made another online payment and immediately contacted the company to inquire if either of the payments appeared in their system, since neither of them appeared visible to me. Of course they could see the payment I had just made, but there was no record of the ON-TIME payment I made online (despite their 7.95 online payment fee). I told them that I had made the payment and that it wasn't my fault that it didn't appear in their system. I told them I could provide them my banking statement showing the other 3 payments I had made at the same time I made one to them. I once again requested to have a one-time courtesy credit of the late fee, but of course was repeatedly told that they could not do that.

I asked to speak with a supervisor, but was told that there wasn't one available. They asked me to verify the number a supervisor could call me at, I told them to call the number on my account. The rep told me that for security purposes she couldn't see the number on my account. I told her that I was well aware that she COULD see that information and that she also probably had caller ID.

I told her once again that the supervisor could call me at the number on file for my account. She tried to lie to me once again and tell me that she couldn't see it, but when I insisted that I knew she could...she read my number from the account and said she would have a supervisor call me. I'm waiting on that call now....Credit One charges exorbitant fees around every bend. Since my inception of the card, I have paid the 69 enrollment fee in addition to the annual fee that bills at a rate of 5.75 monthly, a monthly credit protection fee that I never accepted nor authorized, a late fee, and two online payment fees...and possibly the latest "late fee" for a payment that I made THREE DAYS BEFORE THE DUE DATE.

How convenient for them that they don't show that payment ever being made. They get not only the 32 late fee, but also the 7.95 online payment fee and interest and credit protection charges on both. I have had none of these problems with Capital One, the only other credit card I even have. They post my mailed payments in a timely manner, they post my FREE online payments in a timely manner, and they are more than willing to help when I have questions or problems.

While I fully understand penalty for late payments, I refuse to pay late fees for payments I made in a timely manner. No other bill I pay online ever has these issues. No other bill I pay, period, has these issues. I think that Credit One has excessive, exorbitant fees and beyond poor customer service. Do Not Choose To Do Business With This Company.

Betty of Mount Vernon, NY October 19, 2009

I am trying to pay off this credit card which only has a limit of 250.00. I have been trying for at least a year since I lost my job to pay them off with no success. They continue to add 35.00 late fees on to my account, when I was paying them on time. I called them and closed the account and they say this would stop the service charges. Still because of the late fees I am over the limit which they charge another fee. Also, when I pay on line on by phone they charge an additional 7.95. Their fees are unending and I cannot get my balance down because of these fees. Is there anything that can be done. I've been paying on time but they keep saying I am not.

Lydia of richland hills, TX September 18, 2009

i had received a pre-approved letter on the mail went on line and fill it out. approved 300. They already ran my credit might as well i thought nowhere on that website explained the terms and conditions. When i got my card called and activated. it said 69 divided in 12 payments of 5.95 a month. turns out its 69 plus 5.95 almost 150 for a 300 card no way. called this people are so rude they keep talking non stop do not let you explain your self. I talked to a supervisor who said will wave the 5.95 if i was able to make a 20 payment, i said no i've never paid paid enrollment fees or annual fees on any of my credit cards i was not going to do it for a 300 card. They kept saying it will do good for my credit i explained that i had good credit and thats why i do not get charged fees nor financing on any other credit cards. Its just stupid to pay 150 on fees for a dumb 300 credit card outrageous. Should be label as scam

sue of kingsport, TN September 16, 2009

1) Day applied over phone, no disclosure about enrollment fee, annual fee billed before you activate the credit card. 2) Registered online to pay the bill (fees mentioned above 74.75) but saw they charge to process online payments, did not want to do this..but I had already keyed in my banking information in and there is no delete button or link! 3) The due date was 10/1..I registered online 9/15...it only gave me 4 choices to process payment... all the week of 9/15! NO option to select MY due date! 4) Called # on back of card, the vru asked me to verify my add/hmph# and last 4ssn, then it told me without prior knowledge and/or consent..."congratulations, you have been approved for an additional 350.00." 5) Spoke to Romeo... he told me they could delete my banking info online for me; asked why i could not do this myself, he said well, I know you can go and put different banking information in... advised him, this does not answer my question. if the customer can put it in, why can't the customer take it out? repeatedly he put me on hold 5-10 mins at a time and kept repeating the same thing 3 more times. he said they could do it but it would take 7-10 days.

6) continued from above. I advised him that it would not let me delete per there is NO delete button/link to trash the payment set for 9/15 which I did not authorize. 7) Romeo tells me no payment was processed and my bank info will delete in 7-10 days. it was not SUITABLE TIMEFRAME FOR ME. 8) Romeo states 4xs during call that creditone bank only processes payments w/in 4 days when you go online to make a payment. I kept asking him, "why on earth can't your customer pick their due date as their payment date as per the populice tries to schedule payments in advance of due date. all he could do was repeat banking jargon. he clearly did not know why. 7) Ask Romeo for a supervisor 3xs before I was finally transfered. upon the 3rd time, then Romeo told me my banking info will be delete in 24-48hours. I said fine, I still had asked you for a supervisor 2xs already, now this is my third time--*this is very passive-aggressive avoidance on their part. 8) I then get Alex, a supervisor..all this character manages to do is repeat Romeo's responses. when I kept telling Alex in more professional manner. "Alex, why can't your customer schedule their payment according to their due date and furthermore, why is YOUR 4day window NOT DISCLOSED online?" 10) All Alex could do was repeat what was told to me as mentioned above and that he was sorry he could not provide me the answers I wanted to hear! VERY DEGROGATORY! I told him what I saw each window as I navigated online and there truly is NO delete button for banking and payments! Is this setup a ploy to get incorrect banking and posting dates to cause customer more money and more revenue to Creditone?

This company; two employees can not explain their rule about payments online 4 day rule. Nor can they explain why a customer can not select THEIR due date. Nor can they explain why there is NO....delete button online and the customer has no control over deleting??!! In addition, I feel it is really bad business to bill a customer that has NOT activated the card per activating the card would ONLY then be an agreement to use it and accept the terms and conditions of such card. My card remains not activated.
